Awesome! If you could send me an email at shadow@sc2ranks, one of the things I would like to do is make it so people don't need to pull API data down for their sites unless they wanted to. Both so you can get more functionality, but also to make it easier for everyone. ---
So one of the priorities for the rewrite, is making sure that people who play SC2 a lot get updates faster than people who don't. There isn't much point in spending resources refreshing 1,000 teams if 900 of those haven't played a game in 2 weeks. Especially when the 100 teams who are playing, are playing actively and want to see their stats update.
To help with that. Characters and teams will be separated into different groups based on games played per week. If you play a lot of games in a week, it'll give you really fast updates, if you play a game a week, you might get an update every day. If you haven't played a game in 3 weeks, it'll update you once every few days.
Teams will still get updates as part of the division updating. If someone else in your division plays 500 games a week and you play 1, you're going to get to take advantage of their update speed.
A side effect of this, is that team graphs will become more accurate. They will update in "real time" with your teams regardless of whether or not you're in Grandmaster.
All the numbers outlined above are just examples and not based on fact or set in stone. They'll change once I start writing all of this and look at the actual numbers and not ones I made up.

It looks like I'll have the next version ready within a month as things are going pretty fast once I started coding.
The initial release will only include team rankings, custom divisions and the old API for compatibility purposes. With features like clan tags, a new API, new custom divisions and such coming immediately after.

Sounds Great! Can't wait to see it.

Sure, I can look at my profile if I type in the URL, but how do I make it actually stick in the database? At the same time I disappeared from there my http://sc2sig.com/ stopped working, tried both Europe and NA account and no luck.
Does anyone know of a fix, if there is one? :S
|
What do you mean with stick in the database? Once SC2Ranks knows it, it will be kept.
SC2Sig has not been updated for 2.0.8 it cannot parse the Battle.net site. Until it gets updated, there will be no signatures.
|
|
i agree, but why would you post that in his thread? that s rude
|
sry wrong word choice
in my opionion I find my suggested site better
|
SC2Ranks pretty easily predates Nios by years, and once the rewrite is done, it'll be better than it.

"Error Sorry, cannot find anyone with from Americas as Glaive#391. You can try the Profile Finder, due to Battle Net changes, you won't be able to find a character by code all the time (despite them being in the database)."
Same with my EU profile, nor can I find myself by going through the pages manually.
But that other site worked perfectly, thanks!

I this you http://www.sc2ranks.com/eu/1383318/Glaive?
Getting your profile through the Battle.net profile URL should work. Grabbing it via character name and character code on the other hand will not.
The search function on the top right of the page will not help you. Character codes where public 2 years ago and SC2Ranks could grab them but have since been disabled.
Post your battle.net profile URLs then we can get to the bottom of this.
|
Character codes will definitely be going away with the rewrite, I think I have maybe 5% of characters with codes at this point. The most reliable way is to use the Battle.NET URL tab though.

I was under the impression that once you enter that you should be able to find yourself via the character code, but that seems to have been a false assumption on my part. But I´ve tried every search method I can think of, even just filtering enough to where I can figure out where I should be and ctrl-f:ing my way through a couple of pages. Still couldn´t find me.
If you get it to work, please walk me through so I can do the same with my EU account.

An example of the rankings page. Still very early alpha, UI will change etc etc

At this point, most of what I'm doing is wrapping up the new team/character pages. Followed by compatibility on the API and old URLs, with the newer features like an improved API, integrating stats from GGTracker and such coming shortly after. Don't quite have a timeline yet, but it's most likely to be weeks, if at that.
And another example that is more refined and styled:

Annd more updates
Sample of the clan page, the data is a little bit odd since it's a test environment, normally you would see clan descriptions for all of them and not only one.
You can view clan rankings for any bracket, but it is restricted to the current expansion. Two methods of ranking is supported, sum score and top score. Sum is just a straight score of every member in the clan for that bracket, Top is the top 25% (rounded, minimum 1) of the clans players (based on league/points).
Letting you rank your clan against others without losing to a clan who manages to have 200 players in it, even if most of them are in gold or platinum when you have more people in grandmaster or master for example.

--- I'll be opening up the replay importer to allow anyone with a replay site to get their replays on SC2Ranks. What do you get? We provide links to the replay for people who want to view them or view more info. In general, all we really display are the characters who played, the races, map and length. Any changes to the scope of data shown will contact you to make sure you're ok with it.
The format is mostly locked in and I don't plan on changing it drastically unless I missed some major details. If you're interested and have a working implementation, send me an email at shadow@sc2ranks.com and I'll get you in with the 2.0 launch. Here are the details on implementation:
An URL that can be pinged to get replays that accepts an unix epoch in seconds and returns anything that was added after that time, for example: http://myreplaysite.com/sc2ranks?from=1369688140 that would return any replays after 1369688140.
Both private and ladder games are accepted, as well as any bracket. No AI games though, meaning a 2v2 game with 3 humans and 1 AI shouldn't be sent back, but a 2v2 game with 4 humans is ok.
Duplicate detection is automatically done, if 3 replay sites have the same replay, the first one that SC2Ranks found "gets it". This is randomized across each run to spread it out and keep it fair.
The data returned should be a JSON array containing the below. This is mostly taken from SC2Reader documentation, so none of it should be too hard to get.
+ Show Spoiler + [{ site_id: "#", -- Unique ID of the replay on your site, in case you need to change something later game_type: "1v1|2v2|3v3|4v4|FFA", -- Game type of the match expansion: "WoL|HoTS", -- Expansion region: "us|eu|sea|etc", -- Region the game was played on (gateway in SC2Reader) game_length: "#", -- How long the match went real_game_length: "#", -- Real game length adjusted for speed frames: "#", -- Number of frames played release: "1.4.0.19679", -- Release of the game the replay was played on speed: "Slower|Slow|Fast|Faster", -- Game speed map: "Xel'Naga Caverns", -- Map played on category: "Ladder|Private", -- What type of game was played url: "http://replaysite.com/replays/1234", -- URL to the replay on your website ended_at: 1369688140 -- Unix epoch, end date of the replay uploaded_at: 1369688140, -- Unix epoch, when the replay was uploaded -- All the characters who played a game characters: [ { region: "us|eu|sea", -- Referred to as subregion in a SC2Reader player object bnet_id: "#", -- Also referred to as UID in SC2Reader name: "JohnDoe", -- Team member name results: "Win|Loss|Unknown" -- Game result play_race: "Protoss|Zerg|Terran", team: "#", -- What team the player was on } ] }]

Initial preview of the new character page, as well as some info on graphs:
One of the focuses of the rewrite is making graphs a fully supported feature rather than something that was hacked on. Graphs will update with the team. If SC2R updates your team 10 times in a day and you had 10 point changes, you will get 10 points on the graph. Regardless of whether you're in the bronze league or the grandmaster. No more hour long delays or daily snapshots.
Due to better data gathering, events such as patches or season changes will be shown inline with the graph too.
Because of the graphing changes, the team page is going to exclusively for graphing and will eventually support a variety of stats from simply seeing points/league changes over time, to graphing your spending skill and more.
Graphs won't be limited to the team/character page either, they'll eventually be added to the clan and custom division pages to see the progress of a clan/division overall. As well as anything else I think up.

Hello,
I enjoy using your website, but I'm currently experiencing a problem with the website. My sc2ranks page is:
http://sc2ranks.com/us/787949/HornyHydra
My bnet page is :
http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/787949/1/HornyHydra/
The problem I'm currently experiencing is that my 1v1 ladder for HotS isn't showing up and this has been going on for about a month now. I've refreshed my character profile several times, and I've even found my division on SC2ranks but my account was not listed on the division page.Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you for your help.
|
That's the kind of thing that will be fixed with 2.0, which I hope to have out in the next few weeks. I should have a beta up sooner than that though.
