Though yeah, it's true that toss isn't that fun to watch a lot of the time :/

A vast majority of Zerg and Terran players hates watching P match-ups.

I am just so tired of the inconsistency of this game. That group was as safe as it gets in code S to have the better players advance and it just didn't go that way...:/ Ignorance is bliss.

I just wanted to be part of the whole 'Protoss is boring ' debate :-( Also I wish we had a poll or actual data to rely on so you'd know my 'completely arbitrary claim' isn't so arbitrary.

It's more of a race/blizzard-related thing.

If anything, I think it is the Protoss players themselves who would most desire/benefit from tweaks to their race to enable more dynamic, Terran-esque play I think perhaps T/Z players would benefit just as much (from the Toss rework). Also, the dynamics of Z could still use rework imo, though it's a fair bit better now than at the beginning of WoL and the prospect of Blizz changing Z at this point (let alone fundamentally, and esp. considering their track record) is highly, highly dubious. Anyway, the reason Toss players 'get so much shit' is precisely because of the dynamics/mechanics of the race; I know this because I was a top Master Zerg for a few seasons (played fairly consistently for a bit more than a year) before quitting a couple months ago, and I've gone over this many a time with many a fellow Z and T – mark my words; nothing induces feelings of rage (i.e., feelings of having lost undeservedly) more than losing to a Toss, let alone a Toss' all-in. Nothing in this game, I tell you. Nothing comes even remotely close. Why? Because your race just comes off as easier to play. Simple as that. It's seemed this way (*while playing*) since day one of picking up this game. Really, though; have you truly been blind to this long-standing facet of the game for so long? I'd certainly hope not...I mean, I'm just telling it to you P-players straight-up: your race really, truly does come off as easier. And man, did it ever puzzle the fuck out of me when I was a newer player and I'd view my replays and see that literally EVERY single Tosser I played had, at most, half of my APM. Even when I was in high Master before quitting...the Tossers I'd play against would average like 80 APM. Meanwhile I'd be sporting at least 150. Bleh...not saying P necessarily is easier to play; just saying that, in my experience *as a player* – i.e., *while playing the game* vP – Protoss come off as easier, requiring far less skill to be on the same rung. Such things as cannoning, the fact that we can know what you're doing from the get-go and still lose to it, etc. don't help your image much either.

The truth is Protoss players in masters and below are usually way less skilled than their Z/T peers, but at the highest level of play P is probably just as hard as the other races. Still excrutiating to watch though.

To be honest I think the majority of Zerg and Terran players just flat out don't understand the Protoss mindset or requirements of playing the race. Literally every single time I see whining about relative skill its always APM that gets brought up. It'd be funny if it wasn't for the fact people treat it as some kind of "fact" that lower APM means less skill. Instead its just sad. No point trying to convince differently though, its way too ingrained into the mindset of most people. Ultimately Protoss is just way too drastically different to Terran or Zerg. High APM doesn't mean much when your race is, by design, calculating and precise; its more like playing chess. Arguably why some people don't like watching Protoss, its too much thinking and not enough doing. Although I'd take any Protoss matchup (including PvP) over TvT any day. My GOD that matchup is boring.

I knew every game I played vs zerg that you were trying to get infestor-broodlord... Could I beat it? Yeah, not really, no. Double standards? Thank you for the great post lightspeaker. I know less of us enjoy protoss play, but I'm glad I'm not alone. Also one of the more annoying things I can think of about the whole deal... The fact that people kept saying how TvT is so awesomely great because it's like chess... when it's really not. Protoss is way closer to chess right now, and people hate it. Then again, most people would hate really playing chess, so it's not surprising.

My GOD that matchup is boring. I play at like, 180APM to 220, (actual, not the Blizzard inflated value) with Protoss and Terran, the difference with the latter is that I actually gain something from it. The only style that I see that really benefits from speed as a Protoss player are Phoenix openers especially vs Z. Even warp prism shenanigans require bugger all APM to pull off With Protoss the wall I run into is not having the time to make my builds really tight and the timing side of things. Having good simcities worked out, really tightly against Zerg especially, thing like that. With Terran it's controlling things well enough to take advantage of their inherent micro scaling. I can't get my head around Zerg because they actually play differently. The whole races requiring DIFFERENT skills seems to be over the heads of people, I agree entirely.
