I'm sure some how im going to find that Innovation gets knocked out too and ill need a new computer screen. Not a travesty. Gumiho is far more fun to watch than Rain imo This multiplied by a thousand. No one wants to watch Protoss when they can watch Gumi go crazy multitask mode.
See right there? This is the widely-spread kind of speech that explains why not a single non-terran watcher EVER felt bad when terran started going down in 2012.

I'm a non-terran watcher, and I like Gumi go crazy miltitask mode. But god I couldn't bear terran spamming 1-1-1 all day long

I play both Protoss and Zerg, but Protoss games are indeed boring, this is true even in bw. The reason why I play protoss is simply because that this race is easy to control for nonpro level players, and I can grasp the big picture of the game much more easily than the other two races.
And the reason I don't play Terran is just that it is too hard.

Well just create your own game where you have only one race and play TvT all day long and can fap about how great your multitasking is.
Starcraft has three races because there are people who enjoy each of the three. The majority of the people enjoy terran, that's obviously true. That doesn't mean you get to be a dick about it and dismiss protoss like you just did. This is rude and uncalled for. Honestly I think it's a big part of why I can live with zerg doing well WAY easier than I can live with terran doing well. At least the zergs aren't explaining to me how I should feel so fortunate that I don't get to watch what I want to watch.

Protoss isn't boring. It doesn't have to be boring.
But Rain, even though he is good, is one of the most boring players around. It's basically what makes him so good. It's kinda like how Mvp was so boring because he was so good.
Compare his Protoss style to, say, Flying, that wacky bastard. Flying isn't as good as Rain but his games are always entertaining or comedic. Plus he's in Ro16. Rain didn't do enough to get to Ro16 no matter how good we think he is.

Well, I for one like to watch solid standard play :D I like watching Rain try to play Protoss this way, but unfortunately, you gotta master those cheeses and 2-base all-ins and kinda spam them to really have the right Protoss mindset.
But I don't know why people are bashing on GuMiHo. He was never a massive underdog in this group, not the favorite, but not that unlikely that he came through either. And the more Terrans in further rounds, the better for me, of course :D

I was too upset after my last post I just couldn't finish the group :/ i eventually just looked up the results and am glad to see Bogus advanced. I am just so tired of the inconsistency of this game. That group was as safe as it gets in code S to have the better players advance and it just didn't go that way...:/

bawwwww
Gumiho was the better player that night, simple as that. Rain is probably better overall due to being more consistent, but Gumiho has been known to swing wildly between meh and godly (which adds to the appeal of watching him).
The real bs is that Shine advanced out of his group :p. I mean MC and DRG are both better than Flying, but Flying played better in his group so he won over those two.

Your perspective is exactly the same as Maghetti's. Subjectively believe the losing players are better than the one who won.
The winning players are always better objectively.

Rain might mechanically be better, but he doesn't have a correct mentality when it comes to GSL. He plays the same boring style almost every game, and it costs him a lot. He gets so behind economically with the expectation that he'll just outplay his opponent from there by being ridiculously, overly safe, and it quite frequently doesn't work. Gumiho just outplayed him, and given how freaking good Gumiho is in GSTL and has been in the GSL in the past (he's made round of 4 man), I'd say he's just as good if not better than Rain, given Rain's limitations in playstyle variations.

Better objectively at that point in time. Overall was the keyword in my post. If I were to guess how Rain and Gumiho would perform in other events in the near future, I'd peg Rain to do better because he's demonstrated more consistency in high quality play and arguably a higher peak performance than Gumiho.
Another difference is, I'm not whining about the inconsistencies of the game and know to give credit where it is due as in the case of Flying. He was better than DRG and MC that day clearly, but I would expect more out of the latter two because I believe they're capable of more.
I will concede a bit on Shine though :p

Ah, I love Gumiho and Innovation, so I don't mind seeing them through. Not been much fun seeing Protoss get dicked on on a pretty regular basis this GSL, especially those SCV pulls that are coming back
Innovation's TvZ looks absolutely stellar, really hope we get to see more of it, and Gumiho gets to show his multitasking insanity too

More terrans advancing is a good thing. Their match up are the most entertaining. Gumiho is also the most entertaining Terran to watch as he does a lot of wonky strategies and watching innovation play is mind melting because he is so good at all aspects of the game.
