I started out working at ESFI doing match recaps and brief news posts. Managed to get down to MLG Anaheim, lots of fun and experience working for ESFI there. Eventually transitioned into opinion pieces, and started working on building a series of e-sports criticism and discussion pieces that have really helped focus what I want to do with my life. You can find them all here. Additionally, I have a piece in the next issue of GLHF that I am really excited about.
I also joined the CSL as a regular caster, and that's been great as well. I truly want to help the NA scene grow as big as it can, and CSL is a great way to build up a solid foundation. I've met a lot of nice, hard-working people at the CSL and it's always a good atmosphere to work there. Big highlights were definitely at the Grand Finals last month. Special shoutout to our show last night - we peaked at around 2.2k, a huge bump that promises great success in future CSL shows. I cast every tuesday night at http://twitch.tv/cstarleague. Feel free to come by and chat

I've also began doing some serious e-sports business discussion over at the Data Mined Out. Geoff, Matt, Tom, and Kevin are all really smart people, and talking with them and guests has really helped refine my ideas for e-sports. It feels great to have serious discussion about e-sports issues and news, and we hope to be giving great advice for anybody in the industry. Special shoutout to Evva Kraikul from last week - check out that episode if you are involved in collegiate e-sports at all! I believe we are doing a followup with E-sports Business expert Alan LaFleur this week too
In the end, life is what you make of it. I'm taking a risk in pursuing e-sports; I have a degree in Civil Engineering that I know would make me comfortable. But life isn't about being comfortable, it's about following your dreams and having a good time. In the last year, I have no regrets about my decision. I've had a blast, made many amazing friends, and when I look to the future, I see even greater things.
Feel free to comment here or contact me if you have any questions or need advice on how to get involved in good things. I love talking about e-sports, and I love the community. Hit me up.
