Yeah definitely, but I think I made my point pretty clear. Edit: darn someone already made this pun, maybe I should spend some time figuring out some more keen ones; mine are quite blunt.

Well from the way the story was told, he took the knife and then they were both within contact. I can't imagine it being a clean "he took the knife swiftly" like you see in movies, followed by a pause and then deliberate stab. It must have been much more ad-hoc reaction, sort of like a brawl. I understand how fights go. You did however make it sound like he just took the knife and then shanked the guy in the arm after drawing the knife back and swinging it at him with a downward motion of a previously raised arm (imagery of text). Are you sure he didn't stab him out of spite? Well every good story deserves some embellishment Kind of like your BW ex-progamer blog?

Only it was behind a gas station instead of a hotel and it was a gun instead of a knife. In the commotion of wresting the gun away from the mugger, it went off and the ricochet grazed my friend's leg. That's dodging a bullet. At least your friend got away without harm though.

The chances of being able to disarm someone with a knife without getting stabbed yourself are pretty small. Yup, that's exactly where the story doesn't work for me. Disarming a guy with a knife is a complicated maneuver, unless the other guy tried to stab him, missed, hit a wall and dropped the knife or something equally retarded. Pretty much the mugger had to give him the knife, or else Chico is very fast and very good. If it's the latter, it makes no sense that he would then stab the guy in the arm, run away in panic, and leave the weapon lying on the ground next to a guy who really only has a superficial wound. And is black. We mustn't forget that or else the OP would be really disappointed. And his blackness implies he would be very swift on foot.

Sorry to say but I fabricated the ENTIRE part about disarming a guy with a knife. No way something like this could slip past your expertise in knife fights. I mean I don't even know what adrenaline feels like.
