I made it at last!
I've been on this website for a few months more than a year and I finally have 1000 posts on it.
I used to lurk a lot and post maybe every other day, but I have sort of felt like I want to become a more active member of this website, and I now try to post more often. I really love TL.net, it's definitely my favorite website at the moment. The reason TL is superior to a lot of other websites is because of the high amount of moderation and the rules, which make it so there is much more high quality content here than a lot of other websites (reddit).
It feels like I've been on TL.net forever, but I know that I'm actually a fairly recent member compared to a lot of people lol. I joined on Wednesday, 8th of June 2011 after hearing about TL in a video by Husky. TL is probably one of the biggest influences on my life to be honest. It got me interested in Starcraft and eSports as a whole, which are both things that I am now very interested in though I don't actually play Starcraft very often anymore. I just don't have any friends to play it with and there are no ladder chat channels in SC2 to find other people in. BW is a really fun game though, but I just can't seem to play it whatsoever lol...
I'm really bad at both games (silver in SC2, D in BW), but in SC2 I at least get some basic build orders after 20 supply, as opposed to BW where I just break down and start making only dragoons out of like 12 gateways on 2 bases for the entire game or something like that.
Anyways, on to my life. I got the results back for my second go at the SATs. On my first try, I got a 1660 + Show Spoiler +
somewhere in the 500s for math and reading, somewhere in the 400s for writing
This is a pretty good thing, though it isn't as good as it sounds. The first time, I didn't study at all and I don't really remember it too well. Now, you might think that I studied for the second try at all considering the higher score, but that's far from the truth. I think the only studying I did was looking at a few pages of a SAT book a day or two before I took the test. Now I look back on the test with regret, knowing I could have gotten a really good score if I had studied.
I've also recently seen more importance in music, I play the trumpet and a bit of drums, and I have been practicing much more often now. I think I'm getting much better at the trumpet, and I'm getting a new one for Christmas. I am currently using a Yamaha student model (YTR-2335) and I've had it for about 7 or 8 years now, being a senior (4th year) in HS who has played since 5th grade. I just feel like I'm way overdue for getting an upgrade, I've even been using the same mouthpiece lol...
I've also started to organize the music I listen to more now, using last.fm, and in case anyone is curious about my tastes, here's a link to my profile
I've also started writing a brand new novel of sorts that's a sort of more traditional fiction story than I have written in the past. I'm only about 11 pages and one chapter into it, but I think it's pretty good so far. So far, it's about a therapist who basically goes postal after seeing so many messed-up-in the-head paitents, assassinates some big business CEO, and then escapes to South Korea.
I've also recently started learning Japanese on Memrise, and I think I'm doing pretty well so far.
