GoGoGo Savior! All-time? You mean all-fucking-time? Maybe 2-3 years later, when Savior takes another 5-6 titles - yeah, but now - NO! And no misunderstandings - I am a Nada fan, but clearly Savior is better nowadays. he has shown teh most skill out of any player in history.
think of it this way, back when they were playing baseball with 160 lb guys, did the records mean as much?

savior doesn't have yet the accomplishments nada boxer or oov have, when he will have 3 OSL titles like nada on his CJ uniform , then maybe we will be able to say he is the best player of all times
|
If savior wins both OSL and MSL now he will have a total of 5 OSL/MSL wins. Nada is right now in the lead with 6 wins.. that would put him in 2nd place. Remember that NaDa got those wins over the last 5-6 years while all of saviors wins have been from little more than a year. Savior doesnt need to dominate much longer to be number one.
|
Times have changed. OSL structure is different and much harder to win. Nada's last OSL was impressive, but his brackets still bother me.
I believe if Savior stomps Nada again, he can make a contention of best player ever, not based on tournament results but match results alone.

although I am a savior fan, i have to say it is much more difficult to win in an OSL than in an MSL. You can feel the difference when you are watching the live game. A total count of OSL/MSL does not mean much 'cause an OSL title has more gold in it

I think Nada should get a haircut for the finals...his hair is out of control.

NaDa vs Casy. Game 3 @ Reverse Temple. Must See!!!. Go NaDa you can do this!!!. For The 4 Badges!!!.
|
Anyone else notice when Nada dropped his Barracks a split second before Casy could drop his CC in the mineral field and Casy and to spend time on destroying it before landing his CC? I thought it was pretty cool

the score is nada with 3 osl's to savior's 0, if you're going to compare victories. As cadical has mentioned many times, MSL is simply nowhere near Starleague in terms of prestige (which is MBC's fault apparently)

Not really. If you just look at field strength and participants etc, MSL is at least nearly on part with Starleague. Just look at the MSL's during 2006, or even the next one for 2007. They consistently have very strong players in their list. It most likely owes to the professionalism of the network, the presentation, the commentators, and everything else in between. Even though I don't understand korean at all, I can sense that the MBC commentators lack skill and maturity compared to their OGN counterparts from their voices
|
OGN has heart, history, and hellish proportions.(Much harder.) MSL is a commercialized version of OGN, and sadly, most of their final games don't appear as epic as osl games. I dunno, I find MSL hollow, it has no soul. While OGN, you see the emotion, a fatigue, and a champion's bliss. When I see an MSL champion, I just see them in a form of self-satisfaction, nothing more. Also, MBC is way too forgiving to the losers, there is a whole survivor league/loser round setup, giving them a chance to bring themselves back from below. That's why you get to see shity 3rd rate players make it all the way to the semi-finals, hell, even the finals.
Also, I don't think there was a close series in MSL, i don't think there ever was a 3-2 series -..- MSL is like, a shadow to the current champion. An osl champion, can be anything.

which are all as circumstantial as you can get for reasons to value msls lower than osl in terms of proving the strength of the player. as long as the tournament was played seriously with preparation i dont care if it was broadcasted by a monkey with a bad eye, or if it was played in some void space with no one around. These 'reasons' just explain biases in the population and incidentally reveals these biases to be nonsensical.

There simply isn't room for two "major" leagues, one of them has to be less prestigious than the other. Compare SC to major league sports in North America; there's one big time league. There are things like the CFL and the WHL and shit like that, but they're small potatoes and casual fans don't give a shit about them. That's basically the position the MSL is in.
The MSL generally has better balanced maps, just as good players (if not better), and a better tournament format. They'll continue to get raped in the ratings by OGN because they've already been designated to being the "minor" league.
Did the OGN Starleagues start up before the MSL or something? I haven't been watching since the begining.

Oh yeah. I didn't actually comment on the games at all.
NaDa's timing rushes in the first two games were near perfect and I though briefly that he was going to roll over Casy 3-0. Casy played brilliantly in game 3 and suprisingly, out-macro'd NaDa in game 4.
Casy played incredibly well, but in the final game NaDa played smarter. NaDa cut off Casy's attempts to get a fourth base twice and Casy put to much effort into dropping NaDa rather than securing another base and it cost him as NaDa was able to mine off 5 gas for a while. Casy basically starved himself.
Probably the most watchable TvT I've ever seen.
|
I thought game 3 was really smart by Nada early game. He hid his superior marine count under the rax fucking over Casy hard and leading to 5+ scvs early game and even nullified wraith damage.
I honestly can't justify how Casy won except that was quite possibly the most perfect spot for a drop ever.

And yeah, OSL is a loooot more prestigious than MSL. MSL has recently caught up a lot, compared to the old times where nobody even really cared about it haha :O
