I appreciated your replies and your pity. The update is nothing at all: he has not replied to us (email or phone), no meeting has been arranged, and no money has been sent. I think here he has refund us within 30 days of vacancy, and proof of charged services for whatever damages. Again, there are no structural damages he's complaining about, just cosmetic reaches.
I suppose I'll be forced to compile a slew of reasons why we owe him nothing based on what he's claiming legally, and have to copy-paste a bunch of state laws and argue point-for-point... Fuuuuuun shit.

My new place is an upgrade for sure. We're renting a (very) small house, and now we can't hear our former upstairs neighbors listening to pop music with the bass cranked until 2am, and then boning loudly until 4am with several other individuals involved.
My new landlords are as my old ones were : friendly, not good at cleaning, and definitely not handy. Will they try to ream me on my deposit as the last ones did? Well, why the fuck not?
We have the usual issues: people letting their dogs shit on our property (WHEN I FIND YOU I WILL RUB THE FECES IN YOUR HAIR), some faulty appliances and doors, shit like that. My landlord tried to sand down/cut down our closet doors because they were catching on the carpet. Well he broke the fucking hinge and now doesn't even work. Such craftmanship.
But whatever, the Mrs. loves the place, and we continue to argue about crap like shelves vs entertainment center vs hanging shelves. I'm actually a lucky bastard.
The goal this living cycle is to not let the little things get to me. Scummy people exist, shit happens, and stuff breaks.
I have a three-day weekend and we are going camping. I love nature and I can't wait to get the fuck away from large sums of people. I intend on doing that one thing I never do: relax.
I hope you all take a little break yourselves, away from the bills and the job, away from the computer.
I don't have a gif this time, so please, enjoy this picture of my cat.
