No sex or cereals included LOL
Since over a year I've researched about mechanical keyboards and find the concept quite interesting and cool. Unfortunately there are no places where I could have tried one out so I had to gauge my preference by the information I had found. Luckily I think I settled on pretty much the exact the set of specs that I would like. Unfortunately where I live the market is almost non existent and a very few mechanical keyboards were available in local online stores. (Shipping one from ebay/amazon would have been quite a risk, because of various unpredictable and stupid import laws)
Eventually I settled, I wanted one. Good thing for me is that one of the few available keyboards was the Steelseries 6gv2 which had already grabbed my eye as a simple and efficient KB that does the job. Unfortunately it happened that they were out of stock and for some reason that was the case for months even in Steelseries' official site. Six months went by until it was available again, 3 days ago I jumped on board. At this point I should say that I am on a low budget and due to various bad publisher and marketing practices plus various dysfunctional import laws, products like gaming gear, video games and software are exponentially more expensive in some countries.(one of the big fuels for piracy)
Yesterday I received my new keyboard, It was exactly what I expected. Awesome.
Today I did something that had never ever happened to me, I spilled fucking coffee directly on my keyboard. It blacked out. I knew what to do to maybe save it, but I was beyond angry or frustrated. Ironically I bought it not necessarily because I needed it, but to kinda cheer me up... yeah.
Now I'm typing this out with my old membrane kb, which totally feels like shit now. The 6gv2's main chip seems to check out ok, I think I cleaned all contamination from the board and there is a high chance that it will be at 100% in two days, but man, this was fucking BULLSHIT.
