Today's matches are all between the biggest names in SC2, but still very few people are there. Worry about KESPA. Mr. Chae has shown he can pack the studio and get thousands of people to show up for GSL finals. If these groups were in the GSL, the place would be packed. I would blame it more on KESPA's marketing of SC2 and how their fan base is mainly Brood War fans. Koreans seem to be fans of players more so than the game. If you had Flash, Fantasy, Bisu and Jaedong playing Sc2 the place would be packed. Perhaps when the GOM players destroy the Kespa players in this OSL the Korean Kespa fans will warm to guys like Mvp and DRG more. or they'll dislike the game even more. Watching MVP taking the first code S kind of disappointed me, because the only thing I remembered him for before SC2 was beating BaBy and losing to flash in some MSL (Bigfile or Hana Daetoo?). It felt like wow, this scrub can be so good? WTF is wrong with the game? It's a different game, yo. Lose the hate, please.
did you read my post? I was referring to how I felt over a YEAR ago. thanks.

Soccer or something better? Like Rugby?

Also, talking about number of fans here, eh? It was devastating at first for an OGN event, then it got to Proleague-on-a-bad-day level.

Question.
Why these matches are not on the e-sports TV youtube? Since OSL group stages are all on that channel, this non-Kespa group stage should also be on it.
(I know they are on twitch)

Considering how much better Byun played than Symbol(clumped vikings being his only mistake, compared to 2.5k+ float past the 17 min mark and losing the entire army to siege tanks and etc. etc.), I'm glad that symbol didn't go through.

(I know they are on twitch) i think since twitch had it, they didn't bother with esportstv since so few would watch that compared to the twitch stream :D

I definitely feel there was an unfortunate conflict for ByuN trying to hide builds from GSL Ro4.
DRG plays ZvP pretty much the same every tournament, so he had less to fear, but terran is a more build oriented race and protoss can easily metagame certain builds if they are figured out.
Also people should be glad the esportstv didnt have vods, as those have been low quality. The HD stream vods they have on twitch are great.

I am not sure about hiding builds. If Byun played totally standard bio with pressure when Medivacs comes out into MMMVG, then maybe. But he chose an one base all-in, I think he just wanted to gamble.

None of the real pro's have switched yet. A years time and we won't be talking about half the players currently winning tournaments.

I was pretty sure Byun wouldn't be able to make it through and I was right. Also very happy that Oz has beaten Mvp to place first. San is a bit of a suprise though but it seems he really likes OSL ! Hope he keeps on doing well like this !

Hello, I haven't followed the SC2 scene in a while. Sorry for my ignorance, but is this OSL tournament run by Kespa, the people who ran/run the Brood War stuff? Also, is this the first Kespa run event in SC2 so far? Thanks for any answers :D
|
I caught the VODs and the games were OK-ish. Symbol proves me that he's been riding the zerg patch. He should've lost to Byun on Antiga.
Wish Byun could have advanced along with DRG and San. I have been a fan of all 3 of them.

...? Come on now, that's definitely unfair. Symbol has been playing well, his GSL games show that. He didn't really deserve to win that particular game, but his recent success wasn't just "riding the Zerg patch," he's legitimately good.

I've been away from the scene only for a couple weeks and people are talking about BC/Raven deathball in TvZ? Can someone link to a recent VOD of such games? Out of curiosity.

so OSL IS part of KeSPA as stated here also.

Why are these suckers trying to persuade me that it's not?

All that talk about trying to globalize esports is just KeSPA talking out of their ass, it seems. Meh, korean casters are far better to listen to even if I don't understand them. Also your comment on kespa is irrelevant OGN=/=kespa
