Your team advances to ro4 for the second season in a row. How do you feel?
Gumiho> I think this season is more meaningful than the last. To be frank, our team started this season in such low spirits. I came today thinking that the best I could do was just show what I had prepared, so for my team to come back in such fashion makes me very happy.
Leenock> I am ecstatic about getting to ro4. However, I can already remember our elimination last season. I don’t ever want a repeat of that this season.
It’s the first time the FXO twins got together for an interview
Gumiho> Back when I was chubbier, I got told often that we looked similar. However, that is not the case anymore. Leenock needs to do some exercise now. He keeps getting sick even though he’s so young. As for myself, I’m really taking care of myself lately.
Leenock> it’s true, Gumiho lost weight and I haven’t so we don’t look that similar now.
Gumiho> it must have been our body shape. If I’m honest, I don’t like being told that I look like Leenock (laugh). Maybe on screen, we do.
Leenock> hey, don’t say that (laugh)
You scored three kills as the starting player
Gumiho> after the three kills, I felt like I had done enough. I am happy about the three kills. However, when it became 4:4, I regretted not trying harder for more kills. Still, in the end, our team has won and I gained a lot of confidence today.
Have you regained your old skill yet?
Gumiho> our entire team does well in practice. It makes me sad to see our members lose. The problem is mental control. As long as we get over this hurdle, our team will become much stronger.
You were sent out at 4:4. Didn’t this put much pressure on you?
Leenock> I’ve been sent out as the ace several times before so I wasn’t too nervous. I just wondered how it came to this. My opponent being Jjakji, I was determined to have my revenge.
Do you still hold a grudge from the 2011 GSL Nov Code S finals?
Leenock> I still haven’t touched the VODs of that match. No, I started watching the first set then gave up. I’m afraid it will just remind me of all the bad memories.
Since you beat Jjakji today, will you finally watch those VODs?
Leenock> no way. I will, however, do a marathon of the VOD of my winning match today. I will watch it at least 3-4 times.
In the early season, FXO wasn’t doing well. How did you guys turn that around recently?
Leenock> I think it’s because we’ve started practising more. Honestly, all our players are good. It’s just that we make a lot of mistakes in broadcasted matches. The skill level we’re showing now is our true skill level.
Gumiho> our members are exchanging strategies and tactics to help each other improve. There’s also the fact that we have increased our training hours. As Tree and Whale improve rapidly, other members are also becoming motivated.
Your ro4 opponent is MVP. Are you confident against such a powerful team?
Leenock> outsiders will think that we’re the underdog. However, we’re confident as ever. Tear is known as the ‘Super Saiyan’ among us and other ace players are doing really well as well. As long as Tear plays like he does in practice, we will take MVP down.
Gumiho> MVP has a lot of players that I hold a grudge against. I still remember losing major matches to players like DongRaeGu and Keen
Who do you want to play in ro4 DRG or Keen?
Gumiho> well, I’ll do my best if they come out. However, I like taking on Protosses.
MVP’s Zerg line up consisting of DRG and Sniper is very strong. How is FXO’s in comparison?
Leenock> DRG is on fire so we might be a bit weaker. However, it’s a team match so we should be fine. If it’s a matter of ZvZ against DRG, I’m not super confident but I don’t feel like I’m going to lose either.
Anything to add?
Leenock> I hope the teammates who lost today don’t lose heart and work even harder. They’re excellent in practice so I hope they believe in their own skill.
Gumiho> I hope my grandfather at home exercises more and becomes well. I want to thank my parents and want to thank Tear, Whale and Weekend for practising with me. Lastly, I want to thank our sponsors Razer and FXo as well as Gom TV.
