Also, any way we can use that "Tap target land" Global enchantment?
Maybe tap the land from a lurker or something so when he comes he can't cast anything? It should be used soon before everybody makes their move and tap all their lands.
Nova was active and proved it by casting a Forest:
On June 25 2012 07:14 Nova_Terra wrote: ##Cast: Forest
But he never posted in this thread at all.
Same with Fulla
On June 25 2012 07:20 Fulla wrote: ##Cast: Mountain ##Tap: Mountain ##Cast: Grim Lavamancer
So we basically start with 2 lands? (if 1 in hand)
I think maybe we can tap Fulla's Mountain or Nova's Forests, or threaten them to post soon or we do.
Something like:
Nova and Fulla, contribute in the next 5 hours or we tap your lands
May be a good way to pressure people

Then B summons his monster, targets X, but X blocks him with the monster of his. Player C does nothing. End result:Player X has 3 less HP, and survives. He uses his 10/1 KP beast to kill player B. Next turn C and A don't get any good cards, player X uses his 12/1 KP beast to kill player A. He is 1v1 with player C and mafia win What if they plan? Player A can use Lightning Bolt to target X's monster with 3 defense and destroy it. Player B summons his 4/4 monster Player C casts the "Enchanted creature gets +2/+2" enchantment and uses it on B's monster Player B attacks X and deals him 6 damage End result: Player X has 6 less HP, and dies Town (A, B and C) win. As you can see, if nobody knows what each other cards are in this case it would be almost impossible to kill player X unless they luckily did all of the above blindly. But if they know each other's cards in their hands, they can plan to do this and kill X. These are the situations I'm refering to. Yeah, I'm with you there. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I see great benefit in the late game for us when we have good reads and can really work together. I don't see the benefit in the here and now. If we all form a consensus on what each player should do the mafia would, it seems to me, be able to just play along for a while and we wouldn't gain any information from who each person chose to attack. Although I guess the discussion we would have leading up to those decisions would give us enough material to replace what we would learn from individual actions.
Yeah, it would have more benefit if we already have an idea on what to do (lynch player X, or weaken player Z because he may be scum but we are not sure, etc). If that happens each of us can state our hand or some cards from our hand that can help do that from above, and those that agree can work together to kill X, or weaken Z (by killing it's monsters/destroying his lands/etc)

I think we (me+kita) have an Island to spare so we can tap someone else's land, so we can enforce that from above
(I need to talk with kita first though, he may have another strategy, but by what he told me we may only need 1 mana)

Alright, I'm down with this.
As to your other post I like the idea (especially on Fulla) but I think we should go for something closer to 10 hours. Nova told us he'd be away for the first seven hours so I think we should give him that much time at least. After that we should probably try to force his hand. It is just before six in the morning for Fulla so I'm not sure about how successful our pressure would be if we only gave him five hours. They would probably just be pissed off and we would gain nothing from it.

I also have a spare land so it could work on both of them, though I'll be asleep in five hours. I'd prefer to hear more people's opinions on this first though so it'll have to wait for tomorrow.
I'm also starting to have a good time, really odd first mafia for me. Most of my research into TL mafia is kind of useless here. Which adds to the fun.

@Promethelax: That Goldshitwhatever card you have there can be pretty useful this round.
If you don't do anything else, you can tap your Plain and tap the creature of someone. Maybe you should leave what you have be and don't cast anything else for the remaining of this Main Phase, so if we have a better idea on someone's alignment later in this Phase you can tap his creature to weaken him (and if he's mafia not let him attack).
What do you think?

It won't matter, none of the creatures have haste. I can't tap the harrier and no one else can attack with their creatures. This phase will be kind of slow because of that. No one can do damage except with spells.
My hope is to use the harrier in that way though, as a kind of role blocker against a creature of someone who seems scummy.

Like I said before I think you having your Plain untapped would be better for us, if we ever feel the need for you to tap someone's creature.
I (+kita) have an Island to spare I think, S&B has one as well (and it doesn't seem he'll use it from what I'm seeing), and Zealos/Mattchew have as well (but we should wait for them to post and do their play first)
Also yeah I'm discussing these things to see what people think/react, I won't actually enforce that pressure because I may fuck something up.

Yeah they do, so we can't do much to anyone yet. There is almost no damage output for town this cycle.
off topic: I love that you are old school enough to call it summoning sickness. I haven't heard it called that in forever.

Does someone have a Green "Gives life" deck or something? I think we may need that eventually if we want to save some of our townies (after this round at least one player will have 12 HP, and may die soon)
Like a deck that has those "Tap X mana to give X life points to the target of your choice" cards and stuff.
Nova Terra may be the only one with it (since he has Forests)....so maybe we shouldn't do much harm to him (even if he's mafia but has "life spells", we can force him to use them on townies with low HP).

Artanis, how does the Attack Phase resolve?
Which players decide who to attack with and which players decide who to block with? Can you attack and block with a monster at the same time? If not, what determines if you are able to attack or you have to block? (i.e someone's "turn" in attacking came before yours)
Can different players "team up" in a "same turn" to attack you? For instance a creature from player A has banding....and decides to band with a creature from player B to attack player C or something?
Yeah I'm not sure I really get how the Attack Phase will work.
Also can players use stuff from other players as well or something (if they agree) like that banding situation?
Ehmm....I think those will be all the questions for now
Wait...marv is playing as WB-G as well?
Okay I say we all team up to kill the marv-Toad hydra by the end of the next round, marv policy lynch. ( )
Although to be honest I don't really like WB-G's attitude so far. He seemed pretty antagonistic towards kita and acted in a condescending manner towards him (with the "SSB mafia strategy" thing he talked about).
I also don't like Toad giving himself excuses for not posting:
From WereBugs-Go Also as already mentioned I'm taking this game as an exercise in not talking way to much again, so I'm trying to let marv do most of the talking while not spamming up everything myself. But that first was kinda weird.
---Toad
I don't remember him specifically saying he is using this game as an exercise to stop spamming, the only relevant post I've seen from him about it was:
On June 24 2012 00:19 Toadesstern wrote:fine, I'm taking angel's grace 4x instead Edit: Pregame so editing is still allowed right? We just need to get VE into hydraing as well. And if we manage that, make it 5 posts top per cycle per hydra head as a training for us 3 to learn how to not screw town no matter of alignment
And he didn't seem to make it clear at all that "this game is an exercise in not talking way too much again". (If I somehow missed it then please show it to me)
He did seem one of the first to start discussion though so I'm not that suspicious of him, but I want others opinions on him.
Also Prob, I know you are saying "Gonzaw obvious mafia, his accusations feel forced and he's too aggressive" by now in the Obs QT so shut up >_>

Do you have any initial thoughts about WereBugs-Go? Or any thoughts about the "tap land" pressure vote?
