Go away. No, I thought it was hilarious! And as that other guy pointed out, so did Artosis, and I'm sure jews, and probably grasshoppers as well. Or were you not trying to draw a hilarious mental caricature of - well, I don't know. Why don't you describe what you meant by "jewy grasshopper?"

The PC store I'm the co-owner of ships about 5-15 PC's every day and about half of those use Gigabyte motherboards and graphics card but we would easily have switched if Gigabyte would have supported this racist. Thank you Gigabyte for making a moral standpoint! I feel sorry for your customers if that would make you use a different product. When I build computers I choose the best part for the job, and I'd hope you do the same thing. If you choose something else for personal reasons you are doing a disservice to your customers.

In my experience all the brands we sell break down pretty much equally often and perform equally, when it comes to whats inside the computer the only reason we sell a lot of Gigabyte is because we got a great deal with them and thus are able to sell those computers at a better price for the customer. Also racism is an important topic over here in Sweden and I'm sure the majority of people here would support this decision.

Ok, so you can save money with their boards and pass that on to the customer; however, you would be willing to make them pay more just because you disagreed with Gigabyte on a personal level? That isn't very professional. Further, you are jumping to conclusions by saying that Destiny is a racist. Using a word does not make you a racist. Actively discriminating against someone because of their race makes you a racist.

Any chance you could tell us the name of this fantastic Computer-store?

Lots of interesting players that I want to see, though. A few that I'm just not familiar with at all too. Looks like the main drama with this tournament now though is this Destiny thing. Just based on my knowledge of past instances of this kind of situation, it seems like it would be hard to be surprised. If someone in the public eye uses racial slurs, especially publicly, there seems to always be some punishment. When I imagine any newscaster or sportscaster from television using a racial slur in public, they would certainly be punished. Destiny's removal seems extremely normal, doesn't it? I guess the internet must just make us forget about consequences existing sometimes. Looking forward to the tournament.

Someone has to stand up to this Give me a good reason why an organization such as GIGABYTE would hire someone to cast for their event, who is famous for using and defending his use of language (which includes words like faggot, gay, gook, nigger), when the event has a large Asian fan base? It was their fault in the first place for hiring him, but they are completely in the right to not let him cast. Destiny is being welcomed to the real world, where you get punished for your actions and can't say whatever the hell you want without repercussions .

That is what people are going off about, myself included. I'm not here to 'stand up' for his use of that language, but I'm here to stand up against people labeling Destiny as a racist because he chose to use the darker part of his vocabulary.

Destiny has demonstrated a consistent pattern of behavior over a long period of time. He did not just blow up in 'one game' and get smashed by the community. Someone has to stand up for the right to dissiminate hateful language ? Nobody is saying that he shouldn't be allowed to say what he says. People are saying that they don't want him as a prominent figure in the community if that is how he chooses to behave. It's amazing how ignorant the people are that try to paint Destiny as the victim.

He pretty much said the same thing I did right above you. He doesn't enjoy the fact that people are now painting Destiny as a full blown racist because of his poor choice of words.

Anyways I'm of the opinion that using that kind of language is ok to use in correct circumstance, but hey I'm a linguist and I see words carrying much less meaning than actions...and as far as I know Destiny hasn't gone american history x on us yet. The tournament is doing well with its publicity, afterall this destiny stuff has bought a torunament most people wouldnt have cared about to people's minds... I'm off to watch chelsea, and I'm going to send letters to samsung asking them to remove John Terry or I will boycott their products....o wait...

Destiny on his own stream and Destiny in a professional environment. Lets keep in mind that Destiny is streaming his own personal stream from his home enrivronment and as such is giving us unfiltered access to his ladder games, league of legends, etc. He is meanwhile also trying to draw viewers, many of which want to see the rage and his very quirky comedic personality so he has to entertain at the same time. This being the case you can't hold him to the same metric as other public figures in our media today. Hollywood movie stars, television stars, and public figures don't stream hours out of their day to the internet, so what you get a public persona that you see and is very well crafted not to offend anyone. Watching a starcraft II stream is different to this because the streamer is giving you that access and may be trying to entertain an audience at the same time. We do not hold any other caster or player to the same codes as we do these public figures. If we did then, we wouldnt hear the liberal use of the words "fuck", "retarded", "dumbass", or "gay" on their streams. That also includes IMPRESSIONS OF NATIVE AMERICANS cough....cough...Incontrol... because that could be potentially construed as offensive.( please do not white knight) I will not be watching this tournament, nor will I be buying that Gigabyte gtx 680 i had my eye on on newegg or for that matter any Gigabyte product in the future. I will continue to support Destiny and company that is willing to stand behind him. This is the first time I have activley boycotted any product and it saddens me to do so.

For those who live in a basement, it might come to a surprise, but in the real world it's a normal procedure for professional companies to disassociate themselves from anyone that repetitively throws racial slurs and is unapologetic about it. Destiny can be himself, a child trapped in a man’s body, all he wants inside his own little basement but once he is representing a company, it becomes an entirely a different ball game. He crossed the line and faced the consequences. There is nothing abnormal about it and it’s not even worth a discussion. The amount of irrational fan boys in this thread is quite disturbing. What’s more disturbing is how these irrational fan boys are trying to bring down other players with them and even trying to boycott the tournament. Get out and quit derailing this thread. This tournament was getting good amount of attention even before they made the announcement to hire Destiny. We get it, you are butthurt that your obnoxious diamond level player won’t be casting this tournament. Quit hurting others that had nothing to do with the decision. I’m loving the fact that even screddit which is full of blind destiny fanboys think it was the right decision and has absolutely no problem with it. http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/tj8nk/gigabyte_doesnt_want_destiny_to_cast_for_them_due/ Also quit nitpicking on guys like Incontrol or Idra. They have done a whole lot more for this community than that nobody who only got famous for his Jerry Springer antics and calling people niggers. It’s already an excruciating pain watching someone bad as Destiny playing but casting? That’s even worse. He looks like he hasn’t seen sun in 10 years. Watching one of his interviews in MLG, he looked timid, insecure, and looked very unstable with abnormal behaviors like jaw moving side to side while talking. I’m not asking for Artosis or day9 level commentator all the time but my goodness, don’t try to turn this into some freak show. User was banned for this post.
