MVP FIGHTING

I'm partially inclined to agree. Imagine the backlash if MVP somehow rolled Squirtle 4-0 or 4-1 in the finals and Blizzard decides to nerf something from Terran due to it. I think Blizzard has a bit more common sense than that and won't necessarily try to pander to any Toss players that QQ if this happens, but I've been wrong before...
Either way, it's interesting how MVP really didn't train hard in his matches vs. Parting. I figure he will at least watch the vods of aLive vs. Squirtle on IPL 4 finals or maybe even talk to aLive to figure out a way to beat Squirtle.
Do you honestly think blizzard would alter the game solely based on the result of a single tournament?

And yet he's still not even close to being a bonjwa.
Using that word is just too controversial
We can all agree that he has been the best sc2 player so far
Of course, but best sc2 player =/= sc2 bonjwa
He's been doing it for over a year?
A bonjwa dominates the scene for extended periods of time. MVP has had too many ups and downs to be considered a bonjwa. He hasn't been able to string together more than a few months of dominance at a time.

The fact that he wasn't even considered the favorite in his matches so far immediately rules that word out.
Both played extremely well. Man its not until I read this interviews am I reminded of how much practice they put in with so many siiiiick siccck players. Both their lists were like the pantheon of sc2 lol. Must be such a privilege and resource.

Ahaha, if only he could practice with himself ;P. Want to cheer for squirtle so he can be the first royal-roader and second gsl champ, but... I want MC to remain president XD

obviously he isn't a bonjwa yet.
that being said...people count out mvp too easily and forget just how ridiculous this guy is. He wasn't the favorite vs naniwa, he wasn't the favorite vs parting, and yet he stomped the living shit out of them. People expect him to win everything, and when he doesn't win everything, they assume he's in a slump and basically forget about him. he's still the best player in the world. always has been.
Hopefully Squirtle can capitalize on his IPL4 win. Hes had some real flashes in the past in the foreign tourneys, never managed to translate that to a GSL win.

In my mind, there are two types of the top tier Code S players now.
The Old Elite: MVP, Nestea, MC. MVP and Nestea: Give them good condition, they play rediculously well. No matter how bad they've been playing recently, no one wants to face them. Nestea only seems to lose off of decision making, never really Build order losses. MVP seems to win by having the best build orders and can only be beaten by great decision making and not falling for the mental traps. The major thing about them is that I'd never count them out ever ever. But at low points in their careers, I'd never vehemently count them in.
MC is just the agressive protoss.. something about that is too much for people to handle. Yet he certainly is no longer as potent, and his longer games just aren't THAT good.
The Talent Overwhelming: Marineking, MMA, Parting, Squirtle, Dongraegu
Marineking/parting: It's almost like they have a different laws of metagame applied to their matchups because their micro is so good. Sheer force of will and confidence wins their games. However, they can be mentally broken down and from there are the insta-losers.
MMA/Dongraegu: Heart of a champion. They play with confidence, yet not over confidence. They decide, they execute. They have good game knowledge and cheese when it seems right. They also win games by sheer force of will, but they don't have as much of an ego.
Squirtle: If parting and MC had a baby, this is him. He uses timing pushes that are very good against the current metagame, but also is capable of playing really safe with good decision making(MC lacks here a bit). His ego cannot be crushed. Whereas parting looks like god when he wins his games, squirtle just looks like he played well and won. Almost the whitera of the newcomers, he just wins for some god damn reason.
Special Mention: Leenock, Alive, Hero. Don't make the cut in my mind.
My prediction MVP will win sets. He is too good at planning to not do that. But squirtle is a champ. He'll just keep going, and he has better micro, decision making, and current state of PvT on his side. for this reason I'd give it a 4-2 with Squirtle winning. MVP just doesn't quite have the micro to back up the multitask...
