Open Chrome. You should now have two icons on the taskbar. Unpin the pin on the far left, which doesn't have the highlight around it. Right click on the other Chrome icon and pin that. It's worked for me every time. I think it's because you're pinning a shortcut instead of the program. | ||

Unpin chrome completely. Open chrome, don't pin it, open it. Pin that. Close Chrome, pin should remain. | ||

If it bothers you that much, then I would just reinstall chrome. This is normally caused by a slight variation in the Chrome .exe from what Windows wants to see. I don't know what else to tell you, that method normally works. | ||
