So today, I leave for my first flight in about 17 years 0_0, Im 21 atm. This flight is going to take me to my first every MAJOR EVENT for starcraft 2. I have been playing since Beta and I feel my journey has had alot of bumpy roads and I worked hard to face those hard times. I dont know what im getting myself into at this moment in my life but all i know is that im going to try and enjoy the opprotunity i have. I wont throw away this opprotunity and take it lightly because I know being sponsored is so hard to achieve.
Now I still have many doubts and fears in my mind while i play and it cant be helped =( but i will try my best to get past it. MLG will be a new experience for me and i will try to not get overwhelmed. Thank God i have my teammates with me too enjoy this event with.
Now I hope im going to do well at MLG but with the open bracket being so scary, i have doubts in the back of my head and i prolly shouldnt.
Just wondering? Cuz i know there are prolly so many people in TLN that has been a player in the past. How do you guys get past nerves, fears, doubts? How do you mentally prepare yourself? What helps in situations of great stress? I know many people get through it in their own ways but I feel I can take everyones advice and try them out.
Also thanks to my team Area 51 Gaming for sending me to MLG and our sponsors KillerGaming, SteelSeries, End of Reality, Hurricane Host, Midnight Gaming.
Thats all I have for now but I will probably restructer this later and add more content when the trip is over. Sorrys!!!

I'll be wearing various TL shirts, a micro/ macro shirt (the one in my profile), and possibly an older MLG shirt with my gamertag "PlasmaMango" on it ^^
Good luck!

My only advice is just be friendly! When I went to Anaheim last year there were so many people who just seemed alone, so don't be afraid to start a convo! The more relaxed you are, the better you will play and the better time you will have ^^

Well, i havn't played Starcraft in a LAN setting but I imagine it much like playing basketball or baseball in front of people like I did in high school. The best way to get through it is to, take a few deep breaths before and play to have fun. If you play to impress everyone around you, it leaves you open to doubt yourself, but if you say to yourself: "Hey, let's just go out there and have some fun and whatever happens, happens" much like my mind set is when laddering, it should help deal with nerves.
Sometimes this mindset doesn't work for people, everyone copes with stress/nerves differently.

Enjoy! Just believe in yourself! And remember that every winner believed in themselves and never thought about losing before the fight even started.

TBH, from my competition experience (not SC2, just in general), dealing with the stress/anxiety of competing at high-levels is like anything else - the more you do it, the less of a big deal is seems to be. Because this is your first time, it's going to be hard to overcome, but next time it will be easier, then even easier until it's just another game. Just go in there as confident as you can be and you'll do fine.
Good luck sir!

Hey! I'll be spectating Sat and Sun, walking around with a "teamliquid fighting" poster (among others). Feel free to come up and say hi. I should be easy to find, since I'm a girl. Probably will be wearing a black t-shirt with a red <3 on it (literally). GL HF and remember, just enjoy yourself! As you said, it's your first major event. Think of how hard you worked to get here and be proud of yourself! Even if you don't advance, it's still a big accomplishment and you have every right to be proud of it.

Goodluck man, just try and stay positive in your head, that's where all the nervous are, just think about how far you have made it and even if you don't make it far be proud that you made it at all and there is always chance to compete again, hope to run into you there!

Just stop worrying. Keep your focus, play your game, PLAY WHAT YOU PRACTICE. Don't get psyched out and decide to go for some dumb allin. If you've prepared well, you should do good glhf
Oh, consider playing money betting bo3's vs friends/teammates as practice to get used to nerves/pressure. but too late now!

Keep your "Focus"
