To make it in the long run a team has to establish itself not only through talent, but financially. Being over ambitious can be costly as we see here. Good luck to all the players. Should be a good lesson for the teams currently around too. I can't imagine many teams around today are doing even close to well financially. I mean, obviously there's TL, which has a huge fansite, but outside of that I can only really think of EG as financially stable in a meaningful way (maybe coL and Quantic, but I don't know all that much about them to be honest and they don't seem to be nearly as big in the community as far as expanding their brand goes). Then we have for example FXO, which is just a way for a rich guy to waste his money for entertainment (not a real business model), and a lot of poorer teams that aren't really paying meaningful salaries. I fear for the scene. :\ When I think of established teams I think of EG, coL and Fnatic. These are teams that have survived for years and across multiple games. Why? Because they run good businesses, EG and coL especially.

The vast majority of pro-gamers get 3 figures monthly.

To be honest, it's probably the only korean team who really care and for the financial side. What happend with team Reign is lack of exposure, they had a very little fanbase and never produced any event or something along those lines to bring audience to their sponsors.

T_T some serious talent on this team. Don't think that the players will have trouble finding homes but this is so saddening. How come it was so sudden? How do you sign a player and then disband so soon?

However, there are many people on the market. Complexity just announced picking up three new players... probably slush Kiwi and artist? I hope Liquid can get one of those three though

I didn't get any salary esp since I went inactive almost at the beginning, players in the pro house didn't have any rent to pay, pretty easy to survive that way

I can't speak to the FXO comment, but somehow I doubt that's true. But, what I can speak to, is the bolded part. How can you even say that? OGS has been going out and picking up sponsors left and right, so has IM. Steelseries, Mom's touch, Burn energy drink. PRIME team has a freakin' clothing store, man! And you're going to sit there and tell us they don't care about money? And the ultimate caveat to your statement, the ZENEX post ( whether its true or not I don't know) where a team came to an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD asking STRANGERS for money. Everyone cares about money. Everyone.
