Yeah, everybody says that, but it doesn't work. Tried on multiple characters. On PC, btw.
Haven't tried importing the face yet. Played through the demo on 360, had a blast. Just did it on the normal difficulty, didn't seem terribly hard (not like ME2 insanity with a adept). Can't wait for the full game.
And whoever said it before, you're right. Default femShep is 'meh' in game.
Positive points : - Improved graphics - Intelligent ability tree - Shepard is more agile - Enemies by pack of 10 rather than 6 - Stable game, no crash - You get involved in the story - Fights seems more interesting - The Mass Effect license! "Hold the line"!
Still not sure points : - Narration seems... different. - Musics are quieter, not as epic - Your companions are not as cool as what I remembered
Sucks a bit : - All the NPCs seem stupid so far (Alliance) - Shepard says random things ("We fight for survival!" -> "That's the plan?")
I didn't like the demo much. Somehow it managed to look worse in a lot of ways than the previous two games, mostly because of the art style I think. It's much more dark and generic looking.
In terms of play, the running animation looks stupid as hell. I have no idea why they decided to change it from the last game. The ability to roll is nice, especially since I prefer playing as a vanguard and anything that helps my mobility is a plus. I don't particularly like the way enemy shields/health display as compared to the previous two games. The power melee attack is cool. Most other things function pretty much as they did in the second game.
The music (from what little there was to hear in the demo) was nowhere near the quality of what we had in the first two games. The absence of Jack Wall is already very apparent.
I've been worried about ME3 turning out terrible ever since the EA merger or whatever you want to call it. Dragon Age 2 only deepened my worry because of how obviously rushed and terrible it was. The demo did not do anything to assuage my fears. I really do hope this turns out well, but my initial impressions continue to be negative.

Agreed. I like all the changes they made, they just fucked up the demo by not letting you change your loadout.
Anyone who can enlighten me on what actully happened betwen ME2 and ME3 story wise(I never played the DLC so i really dont know what happened once you killed the collector reaper thing). I really hope they clear it up in the main game as it would suck having to play DLC to actully know what happens betwen game 2 and 3 :/
Annoyed cause Origin keeps telling me my password is wrong. Tried changing it and everything, but it's been 45 minutes since the Retrieve Password/password change window had been filled in, and it's still loading.

was there for me, i guess you can try gibb's save editor im sure the code is in that somewhere.

npc are stupid, there are obvious holes in the me story line, first off no one believes shepard because he's the only one you saw it all. But in ME1 they talk about the helms having cams recording it all so wth? ME also had very little plot movement, the collectors aren't the reapers and all we did to stop the reapers was nothing just a small delay if you played all the dlc's

Well that's the problem with all demos they are too short, frankly i would like them to be like 3 4 hours of game play from the start of the real game when it's like a game like this to get people hooked, so they have to go out to find out what happens

Tried that too, the space where the code was supposed to display was blank. Both char's are ME1 imports, not sure if that matters.

Tertiary concerns. I suggest you look at the meat of the game.
Just finished the (very) short and easy demo. Overall I get a positive feeling although this time it feels more like an action game than ever before. Narration looks poor while dialogues are pretty bad and sometimes a bit nonsensical. In particular, I hate what they did with Wrex, he's a completely different character now.
I think the game is definitely going to be fun, and worth it's cost, but I'm not so sure about its raw epicness. It seems a bit bland for a grand finale. Obviously there's a lot to be seen, but it's just my first impressions.

Yeah thats pretty much my impression to, dosent really help the fact they skip alot of the story that goes on just to skip to a random planet to show some action. I really hope they didnt ignore the dialog as it was pretty terrible, and went full out mindless shooter instead.

My complaints have nothing to do with the length of the demo, they have to deal with the execution. And yes, demo's are meant to sell the game, what other purpose would they have.
Also, that's not really a plothole. All the "evidence" of the reapers Shepard had was
1) His talk with Sovereign. The council believed Soverign to be Geth, so it would make sense that it was trying to engage in a bit of psychological warfare.
2) Statements by Saren, who was clearly insane, and being manipulated by Sovereign. Not exactly a reliable source.
3) The computer on Ilos. Not only was it destroyed, but there was no way to verify that it was accurate.
Add in a strong political incentive to maintain the status quo and prevent unrest in the wake of an attack that almost destroyed the citadel, and it's easy to understand why the council chose to not believe Shepard.

You're going to tell me that saren to do psychological warfare built a secret prothean base with a VI just so Sheppard would stumble across it and also teleport to the beacon in the citadel.

What im telling you is that the council faced strong political incentives to think that Sovereign was some sort of super Geth, and that colored how they saw things.
Here's how it goes, In the Council's mind, the Geth created Sovereign, who proceed to get Saren and Benezia on its side using some sort of brainwashing technology. They also found Ilos, and used Prothean technology (and remember, the Council thinks the Protheans created the Citadel and the Relays) to launch an attack on the Citadel from the inside while Sovereign led the geth fleet to attack on the outside. All the stuff about Reapers was added to fuck with the organics, and confuse them about the real threat.
Makes perfect sense if you're willing to doubt Shepard, which the Council clearly was.

Yeah, pretty much. They're politicians, works the same in the future too(the Council, that is).
Pretty much. And when these upstart humans come barging in telling us that everything we've known about the history of the galaxy for thousands of years is wrong, it's not hard to understand why they doubted.
The music (from what little there was to hear in the demo) was nowhere near the quality of what we had in the first two games. The absence of Jack Wall is already very apparent.
I'd recommend listening again. The music is a bit understated, but I feel Clint Mansell has done an outstanding job.
