Excuse me for my ignorance, but do any of the female members of the pro teams actually go up against the males in tournaments or do they only play in female only tournaments? While I have heard of several pick ups, I haven't heard of any results so far. Well, Aphrodite is probably the only female progamer that is able to take on co-ed competitions as of now. She trashed Destiny fairly convincingly, defeats NA GMs more than she loses, and she does put up a decent showing on the KR ladder. I'm sure she attempts to qualify for code A, but there's no way Startale can send just a "quite good" player like Aphrodite to MLG or other foreign events. If they can't send Squirtle/Rainbow, they definitely can't send Aphrodite. Korean tournaments are.....kind of hard. It's no surprise you haven't heard of results recently. We haven't heard anything out of Fruitdealer, and IdrA/HuK got booted out of code A with little fanfare. I suppose you just have to consider how good these pros have to be to post results other than 0-2. The only problem in your argument, everyone knows the NA GM is pretty weak compared to EU and especially KR She's 8th ranked masters on the Korean ladder and she's only been playing the game for like 6-8 months, her first RTS. I think she got to the third round in Code A in her first attempt too. Also, she wins all the female tournaments she goes too, so I'd say she's well worth the investment for Startale and not just for her looks. The new addition? No clue. Aphrodite is pretty strong. StarTale has used her in team leagues and she's won. I really like StarTale's attitude towards females. I really don't feel like they just add any girl just for show. They actually groomed Aphrodite. She can perform well and I can't wait to see her hit up foreign tournaments.
so, do you think that the girls they are adding are better then some of the teamless male starcraft players?? I don't. That's not me being sexist or anything but honestly I think it is for show.

Tired of seeing all these mediocre females getting signed when there are better male players still waiting for a contract. Teams should sign the best player available. They can sign whoever they want without giving you an explanation They can sign a bum off the street without giving me an explanation true -- but that does mean their decision is justified? What has that girl on SlayerS done seen being signed? Zero results, zero news, zero anything.. signing females is pointless. When LA Galaxy signed David Beckham he was most definitely past his prime and also they payed an absolutely RIDICULOUS transfer fee and wage. So why did they sign him when they could of signed so many better players who wouldn't of costed as much? because he's David fucking Beckham same principle applies here as she is eFamous in china. That is not comparable. David Beckham may not have been the greatest soccer player in the world at that time, but he was still able to compete at the level he was signing too. He was playing in the MLS and contributing to the team. If any of these female SC2 players were able to play in GSL Code A or B or GSTL and not get rocked then I wouldn't have any problem what so ever. My problem is that they get a contract because of their SEX not because of their SKILL. You are the one angling it in a bad light. You should be just as upset over teams signing popular or people that have a lot of pr value (a lot of stream viewers and so on). The way the scene currently works, drawing in the viewer, getting more exposure is very important regardless of skill. A team could sign a better no-name player that no one cares about and the team would be worse off (as a buisness). This isn't about fairness. If sc2 become a legit profession (not just for the absolute best) then this will take care of itself. As it is it's a silly thing to get upset over.

You think players like Catz, Destiny and so on have been signed because the teams couldn't find better players?

Do you read at all before you reply? Trying reading the quote and what I wrote, and then you might realize who I was talking about.

Signing female players is amazing for that sort of thing without a doubt.

Wait, what?
I don't recall Aphrodite ever being in ANY team league for ST.

Well then good luck to her! It will be interesting to see what she can achieve with the kind of training ST can offer.

Protoss is to manly for wmen to play toss.

The only thing I hope is that these girl gamers aren't getting payed more then the males bringing in the results or at least contributing to the team. That is of course if they do neither. Otherwise, I'm all for girl gamers wanting to make their mark.
