Woongjin’s Kim Yu Jin (sHy) “Mungwoon-ee (ZerO) hyung is a prankster”
(TN: Hyung is a way for a younger guy addressing an older guy, around the same age)
Left - Zero, Right - Shy
If you combined both player’s losing streaks it would be 9 games. Woongjin Star’s Ace Kim Myung Woon (ZerO)’s 4 game losing streak, he fell into a deep hole and after the transfer he was doing well but all of a sudden losing his momentum Kim Yu Jin (sHy) fell to a 5 game losing streak. Both players’ future games looked bleak and not ending any time soon
However, in the middle of the 2nd round, both players fell out of their streaks, won their games and beat the 2nd placed Samsung KHAN and showed brilliant play. From both of their performance, they helped raise Stars up to 4th place and showed their prospects for reaching the post season.
Q. You got rid of your losing streak, how do you feel.
ZerO – Before winning today our losing streaks added up to 9. I’m so happy that combination did not reach double digits. (laugh)
sHy – Me too (laugh).
Q. If there was any specific reason you were streaking.
ZerO – Besides the fact that my skills are lacking, there is nothing else to say. Because my record is in this state, I cannot make any excuses. The only choice left is to do well from now on.
Q. You are the ‘losing’ king this season (most losses), you must feel sad.
ZerO – I saw that there was no other player that played this much and lost. 9 losses are a bit shocking. There has never been a season like this, I’m doing terrible. I feel frustrated.
Q. If you are in a losing streak, is it better to keep playing or having a small break, what do you think?
ZerO – It all depends. Even if I am in a losing streak, if I still had confidence I would continue to play. Recently my record has been pretty bad but I had the confidence to win, and the coaching staff trusted in me to break my losing streak, so I wanted to repay their confidence in me. That’s why I think continue playing is better.
Q. Just like ZerO, you were recording a losing streak.
sHy – I did feel shocked during my losing streak. When I first lost I thought nonchalantly ‘I lost’ but since those losses kept stacking up I lost my confidence. I felt a lot of pressure.
ZerO – Since my loss stat was so noticeable, I was too focused on myself I couldn’t support my teammates. Also Shy is a good player, I didn’t even know he was in a 5 game losing streak.
sHy – After he found out he kept teasing me. Really, Zero-hyung is nice and friendly but he also bullies (lol).
Q. You played against ‘4 set 4 win’ Lim Tae Gyu (Brave) on Chain Reaction. (TN: Just counting R2)
sHy – I was sure a Protoss would come out and since I planned a perfect build, I was confident. I thought that I would get out of this losing streak today.
Q. Since you were up 2-0 first, didn’t you feel pressured in a 2-2 position?
sHy – It would have been nice ending with a 3-0. But the games continued up to 2-2 and when I got the chance to play honestly I felt nervous. I tried my best to keep my cool, and the coaching staff told me if I did it like practice that I would win. Also since Zero-hyung broke his own losing streak, that if I continued mine that he would tease me even more, so I tried my best to win.
Q. Your role in the future will be important.
ZerO – I should try my best, right? (lol) Since I only won one game today, and that I’ve lost so many times, this is a position where I should show with results than words.
Q. Any last words.
ZerO – I want to thank the person who recommended this build to me, Kim Sung Woon (Woon). Ever since the last match, he helped me prepare for the games. Now our team’s Special Force team will play (Korean FPS game) I hope they get rid of their losing streak. From the Special Force players, please mention that Lee Ho Woo hyung is the best. I really hope you write that in. (lol)
sHy – I am so happy getting rid of this streak. I think the reason we got out of our losing streaks was because of our hard working coaching staff. I really want to thank them. Also, Yoon Ji Yong (practice partner or b-teamer) helped me a lot preparing, so I would like to say thanks. Lastly to all of our fans, our parents, and friends. Thank you.
