Well, whenever I see a progamer "going off to the military" and not mentioning they're doing it for the compulsory service, I always thought they meant going into career military. But when you put it that way, yeah, makes complete sense.

But hey, being a professional in one of a country's most popular sports, whether a good player or not, is an amazing feat.

this format really sucks ass ;/ Its logical that if less teams, then it should be bo7 not bo5 and even less games and chances for other players.. T_T ehh

I doubt they think of it like that. To a lot of young koreans it's just something you have to do, a hassle.

It's so sad to see such them retire, given KT's inspirational performance last year, but given the three of them played a combined total of 1 game this SPL it's not exactly a surprise... But Anyppi considering SC2 is still at least better news than complete retirement, particularly with the sorry state of Protoss in SC2. (Unless he somehow switches to Terran in which case lol) 5 game format is a bit limited, in this respect, particularly with all the team being very close in strength and basically the top 3 players from any team appearing in every match except to give way to designated snipers. At least with 7 someone other than Flash Stats Hoejja can get games.
