Serious though, it might seem huge, but couple hours of playtime you never want to go back to smaller.

It might be the other way around i dont remember lol. I remember this being the case in the beta, i don't know if its changed since then though. Obligatory pic for threads like this Also you can set 16: 9 resolution even on 16:10 monitor. On December 26 2011 04:30 Mithriel wrote: Surprised no "Size doesn't matter" joke yet. Theoretically, the 16:10 should show more of the game at once. If you multiply the numbers, 16x9 is less than 16x10, which makes me think so. It's more pixels being drawn at 16:10.

The game always shows the same height, but more width, so the higher the relation towards the width, the more you see.

Personally im on a 14' laptop and its still 16 : 9. My eyes dont need to move as much and i could have the screen a bit closer (its a laptop anyway...)... I imagine 24' you would have to sit 2 meters away from screen to get same effect.

Basically, the closer the aspect ratio is to 1:1, the more "square" the screen will be. 16:10 is closer to being square than 16: 9, so 16: 9 is more rectangular and shows more area. You will actually get more physical inches of viewing space on a 16:10 but it will be a smaller area in-game. If you look at the picture above, that's basically what it is showing. 4:3 = 1.33:1 16:10 = 1.6:1 16: 9 = 1.78:1

It's more pixels being drawn at 16:10. Depends how game is programmed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_view_in_video_games But either way you can set a 16x10 to 16x9 and not the other way around so I'd always opt for a 16:10. Not to mention all good quality wide gamut IPS monitors are 16:10.

I know when I first got a 24 inch 3-4 years ago it was really weird but after a few days I got used to it and forgot it was even 24 inches. Whenever someone see's my monitor I forget its bigger then most people's around here and they always go 'holy shit your monitor is huge!"
