As far as I can tell you get life tokens based on style points or whatever they're called, and each mega kill (even without considering the variety bonus) makes each kill worth at least twice as much. After trying devs, i'm having the same conclusion. SB + nades pretty much rocks. As dev and assault you will get mobbed sooner or later, but tac mobility and range made for it. Unfortunately all my friends think "manliest is bigger, either gun or hammer" so... Maybe I will join your group

However I have to say it doesn't seem quite as hard as people are making it. In fact, it feels really easy. First, I have to say that I'm terrible Space Marine player. I'm getting better though, but I always ends up in the lower half of the multiplayer scoreboard with bad stats. I've never played a game using such kind of over the shoulder view (well maybe Dead Space) and it feels really strange to me. With my MP "finese" you would expect that I'd have troubles in exterminatus too, but either the mod is really easy or I'm getting unnaturaly lucky with teammates so far. My first game, I was thrown into wave 11, dying quickly. However after that I jumped into second game, which started normally with wave 1, so I had time to get used to it. And well, we made it all the way into level 20, only falling to Chaos (it was the map which ends on desert arena with a bridge). We were three assaults and one devastator and I really didn't feel like assaults are weak like others in this threads described. Third game was with different team, couple of hours later, the same map. And we again made in into wave 20, completely effortlessly. 2 assaults and 2 devs this time. The first (and only) death before wave 21 was my silly mistake on wave 19 or something like that. We kind of screwed up with the Chaos wave, dying again. So we tried the second map (which ends in half destroyed city), the same people, the same classes I think. And we finished it up all the way, chaos wave included. It felt quite silly (but awesome too, don't get me wrong!) that a simple pub team with no communication whatsoever, with player like me (did I mention that I was just level 15?) just take on a map and finished it straight up. As an assault, I also never felt I was in real danger in the Ork waves. Whenever the things got hot I just jumped away to safety, regenerating health and armor and continuing fighting. It was also quite easy to agro big mobs of melee enemies, have them run at you like bunch of idiots, then jump away to their unprotected ranged mates, killing them and jump away before the melee mob catched with you. All this while our devastators were killing everything in sight. The Chaos wave though, that was something different. I died 3 times here, if I remember correctly. One time we had no spare lives left and I though we were done for, but we somewhat started playing much better than before, slowly getting all 4 bonus lives back and finishing the whole wave. There were also couple of quite awesome moments. Like when me with the second assault singled out one chaos marine, beat the crap out of him, jumped away, regen and repeated with another. Or when I was almost dead, being pursued by one of the brutal melee marines and out of desperation I started shooting at him with pistol...only to watch him die by a lucky headshot(s). To sum it up, I think assaults and devs are stronger than they are getting credit for. I also hope Relic will release more harder maps (maybe with more chaos waves) in the future.

If my mates are decent I make it always to wave 20, but I haven't figured out how to stand ground against those superbosses yet. I'm sure with some coordination and tactics we should be able to beat it tomorrow! Very curious about this chaos wave.

http://www.spacemarine.com/blog-post/warhammer-40000-space-marine-new-dlc-pack-announced Basically it is Exterminatus as chaos against orcs and imperial guard (which is kinda cool) with bosses. Also you get three new maps. There will be a new CTF mode for free. Also, you can buy skins of certain chapters for 2,99$ each. Already many players are posting that they won't buy anything as long as all the issues (especially regarding connectivity) aren't fixed, and I plan on doing the same.

A new CTF mode sounds interesting, would add some variety, I just play conquest whenever I do play. Still haven't got around to play Exterminatus I need too from the comments on here though.

"Hey guys, our game has a lots of problems with matchmaking. People have problems finding game and they often lag terribly when they succeed. Solution? Let's charge for new maps and split the community even further!" I vividly remember Relic employee promising on DoW2 forum that they won't charge for new maps in DoW2, because they are aware it splits community. Where did this awareness go? I hope they reconsider it. Charge for cosmetic stuff as much as you like, but leave new maps/weapons/etc. out of it.

Edit: Forgot to mention that one of them is CTF, which sounds interesting.

Haha, true.^^ But the last time we tried to meet for Exterminatus we couldn't do shit because of lag. I hope nobody buys their DLC, what they did with the PC version is just terrible.

It's really dissapointing that relic did such a poor job with this, I had such high hopes for this game which were crushed by technical issues
