Initially, we were safe.
Except for the annual WCG assault, we were not threatened. But over the last year the Rebellion has suffered defeat after defeat at the hands of the Korean Empire. Our forces have collided everywhere, from the westernmost reaches of our homeland to the enemy's eastern frontier. How naive we were to think their bloodlust would be sated by our meager annual tribute. At first they were content, but as time passed the Empire's hunger grew. It began as but an expedition by one or two of their most elite warriors into our territory, but their success has paved the way for further misery.
Months later, we live in a world where no tournament is safe. The Koreans fall from the sky to claim our money. Our treasure. Our fame. Our pride. Our women. Once a safe haven from the Empire, our so called 'ally' MLG has begun inviting them in droves. The ones that are not invited travel here nonetheless as mercenaries. Even the one they call 'king' is himself coming to prove his royal worth. To them, we have become stepping stones: A battle that must be won to advance in their warrior society.
We are at a crossroads, friends. We are divided but we are not conquered. The recent victories in China and Atlantic City provide us hope. The future may not be as bleak as previously thought but the war is far from over. We cannot back down now. We cannot stop fighting. We must hold the line. The Empire cannot be allowed to continue its reign of terror. Their greatest warriors have come to Orlando and we must be ready. This is our chance to stifle their advance. A third victory in a row. There is no better time or place to turn the tide. Soldiers, fight with all your might so that those who cannot may live on in peace. The future of our great world rests upon your shoulders.
