Man, these long inter-game breaks are just killing the online experience. For people at the live event, I think it's much easier to get by because they are with friends, getting autographs, taking photos, etc etc. But for guys watching online, it's just a pain. Yah, you can surf the net and post on TL, but nothing all that exciting.
So here's my idea. I'm pretty sure MLG has referees for each match or at least watching the matches. What if MLG got some more casters to stream in the "downtime"? Some of the casters could continuously join games being played. That way, when the 2 main streams are having "downtime", just switch to the other casters.
For example. Aside from Tastosis and Day9 and Husky, MLG invites caster X and caster Y to attend. MLG referees on the game floor would approach Naniwa before he creates the game. They would ask him to invite caster X. Another referee might ask Coca to invite caster Y. While they are in their games, say the red and blue streams go on break. From here, there're 2 choices:
A) The streams immediately switch to caster X and Y, respectively. You would then be wtnessing 2 more games being streamed. However, this could prove pretty bad since those 2 games might be finishing up. Therefore,
B) The streams temporarily go on break, showing the crowd. However, when caster X and Y's games have finished and they have the replays, the streams show them casting the replays. How would you know when the other games are finished? Walkie talkies would work fine haha.
Option B would probably be optimal.
1. When the featured casters are waiting, there will still be auxiliary games available to be streamed. Thus, online viewing experience would be absolutely phenomenal. Time between games filled with nothing will instead be replaced with even more amazing games. 2. So many more matches would be shown. Fans surely would be delighted. 3. More chances for MLG to show commercials?
What do you guys I think? I would personally love it if Sundance tried to implement this and bring the online viewing experience of MLG to the absolute perfection.

meh it's a decent idea. i like the breaks between the game though, so i can take care of rl stuff. u could just chill with some friends on skype or something between/during games, that's what i do sometimes... i don't think mlg can be expected to produce that much content either. another thing would be how much it would cost to link all the computers to projectors and stuff.

You know that you can rewind and watch the whole days cast. In the downtime you can rewind the other stream and watch that. If there is still downtime then you can walk away for 1/2 hour, keeping the streams paused, then watch them and fast forward through the breaks.

^I can't explain it, and the only thing comparable is being a real hardcore sports fan, but what you described is not the same as watching it live :p
There was an idea of SotG to stream the other games in the pit; i just think it might be hard and they have other things on their priority list.

I like having a break, but I just wish they were quicker in telling us what was going to be on next and at least an approximate time. That way you know what stream you are going to want to watch and what time to flip back to it.

it sucks in person too, don't worry..

my wishes: HUD with infos on next match streamed and approximative countdown to the game.
I always open my browser, see the crowd,no infos,I try to look at the schedule and have no idea whats going on. So I just end up closing the browser and try my luck another time.
Watched 2 games so far cause of that
This is really bad cause this is a great tournament and production and caters are top notch along with players.
On screen display please!

Streamed matches were scheduled every hour, on the half hour. I'm not sure if that will change for tomorrow, but that's how it was yesterday and today.

Yes, but I was able to watch the entire day on Saturday so there was still quite a long time of just looking at the crowd.

Edit: Poll added. And yes, it would be of great help to have a timer on display........like the NASL haha (only not for 1 minute).
