It is like how SC1/BW was just a game for fun until people started to play it more and more until it got to a whole other level. I can see Valve adding things in such as achievements, unlockables, some kill streaks etc because it makes the pub game more enjoyable to today's casual gamers. They could always implement a competitive mode where the mode strips away all the pub perks and becomes the old fashion CS that people know of.

Just because they don't like the same game as you doesn't degrade them in any way. I personally preferred CSS to 1.6, something about the crouch-walking and the fimsy aspect of the walls turned me off. I'm not saying 1.6 is bad, far from it, but it didn't necessarily "fail" as hard as every fan of 1.6 claims it to have. CSS is the real pub game of the two, it has and has always had a small competitive scene compared to 1.6. CSS is just inferior, both community-wise but also as a competitive game. The number of people playing the game hardy makes an argument when valve has been promoting the shit out of it while 1.6 has been left rotting and still somehow succeeded. Also casual games ALWAYS have a strong following in comparison to competitive/hardcore games. That goes without saying. Esport is what matters here, so if I want a good and fun pub game I go play TFT2 or any of the 23 COD titles. How has valve been promoting the shit out of a game that's been around since 2004?? I've not seen that anywhere CS is more of a competitor to MW than it is to BF. The first two are more similar, and BF is not at all like either of others besides the guns it's also kind of foolish to assume this won't have a competitive side as well, and it's silly to discount how many people stuck with CS1.6 bc of hardware limitations

I liked it that it wasnt wacky races with the guns. The economy feature worked really well - although I feel it could be a little more restrictive. I like how it started with a pistol round, then economizing early on, then an overwhelming majority using M4/AK, occasionally AWP or scout. The problem is when a company like valve has 50 or more game developers waiting to be told what to do - its no surprise that the final product ends up so complicated. Still hope it works out well.

http://www.hiddenpath.com/contact/ Thats hidden path's (developers of the game) contact info. I suggest everyone send them an email telling them they're dissapointed that no 1.6 players were invited to provide feedback.
