And yes, major concerts are regularly held in these gymnasiums. And you don't think there's one in the whole of Shanghai that they could've found as a backup? Hell, I'll run along with this argument. Is there any evidence they even tried to implement a backup? There are probably dozens of suitable indoor venues that could've been used as an alternative in the Shanghai region. Are you telling me they were all booked solid? How do you know? My argument is that crossing your fingers and hoping the gov't will let things slide was probably the worst choice that they could've made in this admittedly unfortunate situation.

Well they obviously need more than a day or two to set things up (assuming the weather even clears up in that time) and every extra day spent in Shanghai would have been a waste of time and money for players, coaches, organizers, and the fans who flew in and most likely didn't plan to stay for long. Even in Korea they had to delay it by two weeks so you can't really expect them to stay that amount of time in China. They probably tried to get it through so hard because they knew they would have to cancel it otherwise. Kespa, ongamenet, and brood war scene in general are suffering from financial difficulties so they don't have many options.

They couldn't find one which could be approved within 2-3 days. Minimum advance booking needed a week. This was stated on Fomos. Even if they could have found a venue within a few days, they would still have to move all the equipment, lighting, booths, stage and crew over the the new venue. Setting up the original venue already took them days. The teams had arrived in Shanghai on Thursday afternoon and before that other crew/staffers had already arrived. They should perhaps have canceled on Thursday or Friday instead of at the last minute but the disappointment wouldn't be any less. It is what it is.

But KESPA is fucked with OSL/MSL going on, players becoming free agents, having to find a new place, the STX Masters Cup, etc. Can anyone link me to the "free agent" news? I heard flash was going to do it, but I just assume he will go back to KT anyway... Also, I feel really bad for the Chinese fans who waited and now get no show T_T
