Also... does anyone happen to have a video of the crowd reaction when Jinro hit that defensive nuke?

Upon returning from a bathroom break/whatever they noticed a bald guy sitting in their seats. This bald guy was Sundance. Without knowing, they had asked Sundance to move and he happily obliged, without making it known who he was. The next time that they get up they decide to leave some personal effects on their seat as a way of indicating that the seat was occupied. I'm told by people that attended MLG that this was fairly common practice. Xeris, when noticing two unoccupied seats, takes it upon himself to displace the items on the seat. When told the purpose of the items he was throwing onto the floor and that those seats were being held for winners of a contest Xeris had this to say, "I won these too ... through hard work." Really Xeris? MLG management: respectful members of the community, awesome event all around. NASL management: will throw your shit on the ground. Xeris's tendencies to do stuff like this was confirmed by Rise in that Reddit thread. I'll no longer be spending any money on any event Xeris is involved with. There are far too many hardworking, deserving tournaments to waste money on a guy who's a dick because he thinks he is internet famous.

Obviously there are a couple sides to every story. That said, Xeris has proven himself to be a douche on numerous occasions so it's hard to know what exactly the truth is. hmm i remember evoli from that sixjaxmajor vs SEA thread while back where he completely downplayed the matter and tried to sweep it under the rug instead of offering any sort of apology. he himself is a huge douche and doesn't seem to consider the community much at all. both he and xeris seem to share this attitude that they are somehow more important than everyone else.

Waiting until the story blew up on the internet two days after the fact and THEN issuing an apology reeks of damage control. Should have known you were in the wrong there, Xeris. Anyway, you probably should have been back at NASL headquarters working instead on a tournament format that doesn't suck complete ass.

Damn that reddit crowd is brutal lol, can't say xeris doesnt deserve it though On August 02 2011 12:33 wei2coolman wrote: Gosh, all this xeris hate, and fnatic hate. This happens over at our colleges, as well; where there are plenty of students and room, but not enough seats due to "fire regulations".

A more articulated response as to why I think Xeris is not a douche. Imagine if you're in Xeris's position. You've been busy managing your team, and you just want to sit down to watch the SC2 game on, so you walk to the "players/vip/press" sitting area. Now, being Xeris, you probably know everyone in the SC2 industry. So you walk up, see 2 seats, and sit down. There might of been stuff on it, so you kindly just slowly moved it down onto the floor. Then this guy walks up to you, saying that it is his seat, you've never seen this guy before, so you just say this area is for players/vip/press, UNKNOWINGLY that he won the contest for it, and there is no indication of proof, lack of badge/special spectator wristband of sort. Slightly irritated at the fact a guy you've never seen is claiming thats his seat, all while distractng you from an important game, you quickly replied a retort. Now this story gets posted from one side of the story, and on a fucking website in which everyone is a bipolar idiot who's threads are more about stupid drama, than actual strategy. (reddit) XERIS you can steal my seat any time, so long as I get VIP passes to NASL season 2 finals!!!!!

It's pretty conclusive that this is not at all how the story went, and according to multiple people there, Xeris was just being a prick about it. He was told before the guy even showed up that the seats were reserved for the contest winner. Thats why he made his snarky "i earned it too" comment. Don't be so quick to crawl up somebody's ass until you know what actually transpired.

(reddit) XERIS you can steal my seat any time, so long as I get VIP passes to NASL season 2 finals!!!!! You tar absolutely everybody in an entire community 'a bipolar idiot' and think they're the stupid ones? Jesus christ, not only is that prejudice to the extreme but it makes you sound very bigoted. There's some great things that comes out of that community just like TL, and just like TL, there's a load of trash too. Does that mean everybody on here is an idiot too? Because there's a select few that act like it? And whether he's been busy working or not is completely irrelevant. I have hard busy days at work just like most others, it doesn't mean i can be a complete jackass on my way home or when i get in though. It doesn't give me any sort of sense of entitlement. There's plenty of people you will never have seen at every event, and to just assume because you don't recognise their face that they are not entitled to those seats is stupid. What happens if they are Sundance's family or something like that? Would he just dump all their shit on the floor and take their seat too? The fact is, he was a jerk, some people have come forward and posted about it (whether it is on here or reddit doesn't really matter, it's the story that matters and just because there's been drama of late doesn't mean we should just overlook people being shitty) and now he's doing damage control and trying to save face. If it was out of character, maybe you could just put it down to a bad day or something like that. But he's been like it for years and is notorious for rubbing people the wrong way. In BW and in SCII.
