Because it's against the Blzizard Map Philosophy. There are no rocks.

Nice, all vetos back. Bye Shattered and 2 of the new maps.
|
Metal removed what the? That's one of the most balanced maps (apart from close spawns)
|
wish they had an even spread of 2 and 3 player maps rather than all 4 player maps plus xel naga. It's a nice change though, I think all the maps removed needed to go.
|
Metal is a fun map but its definitely gone because its old and blizz doesn't like the hackish fix of disabling close spawn.
Really excited for season 3. Season 2 started during my exams but season 3 starts during the summer!

I need some more vetos :/ And WHY THE FORK did they remove meta? I think a hotfix such as for Shakuras will be coming soon (more like i hope). They should have removed slag pits aka the worse meta.
|
If they'd swapped Metalopolis for Backwater it'd have been perfect...but we all know no modification to the game is complete without some colossal oversight by Blizzard.
Oh well.
|
Disabling close spawns works for Shakuras
Ah well, I guess it would be weird to change that all of a sudden.
|
The removed maps make me so happy, other then metal. I'd so rather have typhoon or backwater removed :/ but i guess metal close position is gay too
|
In my opinion it's a disappointing move by Blizzard.
|
To all those saying Blizzard doesn't like removing close positions, didn't they do exactly that for Shakuras Plateau? I think it's more that Blizzard just thought it was an old map, and that close positions were in some way not completely imbalanced against Zergs.
A good update. I like having all my vetoed maps gone.

Yeah same.... Metal removed? And great... Backwater's still there... what a terrible map, that stupid double choke makes me rageeee....

Is there an update for how the new maps look? or are they still borked

If you read the Blizzard blue post, they did remove Slag pits.

It was because the rush distance in Shakuras was waayy too close. Even closer than Steppes of War. I believe you can siege the other natural in close position.

Hated metal and got back all of my 3 thumbs downs back. Word, blizz

They've been up on bnet for a few days now. Blizzard said they had been adjusted from the PTR versions in light of feedback. I just looked at one for a few minutes, so I'm not sure what those adjustments are.

where can i find the full map list?

They really have lost it, lets just remove the most popular map that sounds great.
|
I felt like random team 3v3 was honestly broken due to the horrible maps, but the new ones give me hope. The macro 1v1 map is the only new one that reall piques my interest thought. The idea of being able to establish a front at your natural, only to then push out a bit and take the third, I think that could create some really interesting base attack scenarios, especially against terran. Drop play and such will become even more popular I predict.
