My new laptop Toshiba m100 w/ 1.83 giga duo pcu, 1gb memory, 80gb harddrive, and 128 mb ati radeon 1400x graphic card can't run sc as of now.
currently, i'm trying to run it w/ bwlauncher and minisc. When i try to launch sc though, following error occurs:
"starcraft was unable to switch video modes. to correct this problem, please set desktop area to 640 x 480 and color palette to 256 colors and try running starcraft again. the error encountered while trying to switch modes was not implemented vidinimo_pc.cpp line 160 setdisplaymode. if your video card does not support 256 color mode, you will need to install the most recent directx video drivers for your video card. a list of video card manufacturerers can be found at www.blizzard.com/support/vendors.htm."
My directx is upto date and i have a decent graphic card. i even tried changing file compatibility to manually switch to 256 color and 640 by 480 but same error occurs.
What's the problem? Does anyone know the solution?

Yes, we're all computer experts T.T

Maybe your gfx card isn't as "decent" as you think.
Shrug.
It SEEMS like a graphics card problem. I'm not sure how beastly the radeon 1400 is, but I think thats fairly old. Regardless, SC should run on pretty much anything. I think I have on-board graphics and I run sc just fine.
