The first time was 4 or 5 years ago, and they held a pre-season that my brother and I competed in. Immediately after that ended, they posted the main season had been delayed.... and that was the official word for weeks. So, after awhile of that, I went to visit the CAL website expecting to find the same stale newspost, only to be surprised to find it had finally changed! To the message of "Page not found". Ok....but when I randomly tried it at school, the page came right up.... it just lacked a Starcraft section now.... So, basically, the removed the entire section, didn't tell us, and the site automatically redirected those signed in to a portion of the site that no longer existed. Real nice of them - and as CAL doesn't offer prizes usually, I would recommend avoiding it.

they are the amateur version of cpl (cyberathletic professional league) which may be more well-known, holding large tournaments which again draw mainly the eyes of the fps communities.

It's not a money league, and I doubt it will catch on for Starcraft. I imagine the skill level and activity will resemble what WGTour is currently like. I will probably sign up for kicks because I'm CS:S Main but I don't expect it to last, because Starcraft leagues, even the online ones, pretty much require money to interest top players. Unlike CS where the only money that can be had is on LAN. I'll predict that if it's an induvidual league it will fail, if it's a team league it might be fun for non top teams to take part in an organized league. And if that's the case I want to join a clan ![]()
