Based in Düsseldorf, the house offers excellent training conditions : Food provided by a restaurant, free entrance at a gym with a personnal trainer and, most importantly, high quality equipements to play starcraft 2. Since he arrived woednesday evening, Eddy had the chance to try it out and, so far, he is delighted ! He also had the chance, this weekend, to watch the Homestory Cup 4 directly at Take's house. There, effecto had the opportunity to cheer for his teammate Aurélien "AureS" Sannier who got invited to compeat in the HSC4.
Type recently signed a partnership with a german team : Vitriolic. This team got famous in 2009 when they signed the cs 1.6 former MeetYourMakers team with players such as Filip "NEO" Kubski, Jakub "kuben" Gurczynski, Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski, Lukas "LUq" Wnek et leur capitaine historique Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas. The team lasted a bit more than a month but it gave the opportunity to promote the team for a bit of time. That doesn't change anything between aAa and Type but only shows that Type is willing to grow alongside solid structures and to play a major role on the internationnal scene.
We had the opportunity to talk with Eddy "effecto" Tritten to get his first feelings about his stay in Düsseldorf.
Team-aAa : Hello effecto, how was your trip to get to Düsseldorf ?
Eddy "effecto" Tritten : Hello, I left Tarbes [south east of France] wednesday 4th of january at 9 AM and arrives at 10 PM to Düsseldorf's train station where LexyTA (Type's manager) arrived to pick me up. I wasn't really tired by the trip but i wouldn't do 13hours by train everyday.
How were you welcomed there ? What are the key moments so far ?
When I met Alexis, he immediatly seemed really kind and, once inside the gaming house, i directly felt confortable. They forced me to do everything just like at home (laugh). I joined DBS and ReaL who are super kind. ReaL prepares me some food a lot without having to ask and DBS helps me to analyze my game.
What do you think it will bring you to be in the gaming house ?
What i hope to get at the end of the bootcamp is, obviously, a better level. The first two days where mostly spent at the homestory cup 4 where I joined my teammate Aurélien "AureS" Sannier who got invited. Since saturday, I play as much as possible. to give you an idea, i play about 40 games a day which is, in my opinnion, good enough to improve. But i also learn a lot of things. For exemple, that my current level is not as solid as I thought. I am a bit disappointed but that motivates me to improve. I can already see improvements on the points I am working on such as how to execute a build order proprely or simply to improve my macro mechanics. I am also starting to realize that i have a particular style of play and I will try to make it evolve instead of simply copying what i see in replays I find on aAa's replay database [ http://www.sc2replays.eu/ ]. That's all thanks to the time i can spend here practicing into a really professional atmosphere. I have time to "think" about the game, thing that i wasn't doing at home or in a cyber cafe.
how are you planning your time to get better ? what is at your disposal there ?
It's just more serious. I wake up just before 11 AM and start practicing when i feel fresh (laugh). I spend more time analyzing the errors that made me loose the game. As I said previously, DBS helps me a lot to find the weaknesses in my opponent's play when I can't find them myself.
Could you give us your time schedule ?
There are not time tables, just the amount of games played in a day. Except on Tuesday and Thursday when we plan on going to the gym to refresh my brain (smile). On sundays, Type players usually go to Take's house which is 20 minutes from here.
Did you higher your targets or are they still the same ?
I don't have targets, I just want to become as good as I can get, so I'd say that they are still the same. However, I hope I'll be able to keep good training habbits when I'll go back to France.
Do you wish to add a last word?
내가 간다 !!!!!!!!!! Thanks to the team aAa who made this trip possible and I would like to thank the team Type for welcoming me.
A few more information :
Eddy will stay for one more week at Type's house before coming back to France. You'll have the opportunity to see him action during a LAN event soon, the French lan season being far from over, or in one of the many online cups.
We would like to give a huge tanks to Type.Vitriolic for their welcome as well as for the opportunity that such a partenership provides.
Let's end up with some pictures from Eddy.
