Is there any specials to get a free spectator pass like the NOS promotion that you guys did in California?

The details for promotions like those are typically not announced until 1 week prior to the event. We have had the NOS Promotions at every event since Columbus though. They are generally local to the venue. For Columbus and Raleigh, local Play n Trade stores (5 or fewer stores) did the promotion; however, for Anaheim, a local gas station, with many locations participated. So the scale of the promotion changes from event to event as well.

We are currently looking for some local people to do ticketing at the MLG Orlando event. You'd only have to work 14-16 hours all weekend, which leaves plenty of time to watch all the action (players can NOT apply.) Additionally, this is a great way to meet MLG Staff. You get $200, catered meals for the weekend (Dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Lunch and Dinner), and free entry.

Sent in my application for the Ticketing positions.
So excited for Orlando 2011, Raleigh was awesome, even with the weather threats, and the new Global Invitational couldn't be a better idea.
I'm so glad to see things like this keep popping up, giving regular fans a chance to give back to e-Sports, and maybe get their foot in the door to something even bigger.
Keep up the good work MLG, can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2012.

I've already planned a Disney World trip around this with the wife. It's gonna be the best two weeks ever. So excited.

MLG Orlando Competitor Passes go on Sale Tuesday, September 13 at 7pm ET.
Competitor Passes have sold out fairly quickly for several of the events this year, so if you are planning to play at the event, I would suggest to purchase them as soon as possible.

Gogo MLG Orlando! This Event is going to be awesome!

Will MLG be raising prize pools in the near future? Seeing TB's shoutcast doing a 2.5k first prize for a 8man event, thats half of the 5k for MLG. I know MLG has got major overhead and prize pools is not what makes this tournament great, but im getting the feeling of the great tournaments, MLG is lagging in prizes.
GSL winner code S - $32.000 NASL season 2 - $100k total, prob half/40% for winner IPL 3 - $30k first place Dreamhack valencia - $15k for 8 man invite (think winners takes all)
MLG - 272 players, 14k prizepool.
Now i know that MLG also has a 50k for the national champion but thats the yearly prize. Now i don't have anything with low prizes but maybe the nationals could be altered in favor of the regionals? Its just that a 5k first prize for some foreigners travelling across the globe could seem stretched. Especially if you get 5th place and receive a $1000. This is merely a suggestion/open question.
I can imagine this being discussed before, if so disregard my comment. And ofcourse: good luck with the tournament!

They have already announced a massive prize pool for the national championship, and that they would make the prize pools bigger in 2012. They just couldnt do it now because of how they set up their budget and likely didnt expect such extreme boost in popularity that early in the year.

Thank you for your response. Was just a quick question mark that popped once i've seen the details of the event. Its answered now

Providence is pretty huge. NASL, and IPL don't occur very often. Providence actually has the biggest prize pool of a SC2 event this year. ~120k total.
Edit: That's not including the global invitational.

I'm wondering -- am I mistaken or did MLG announce that they were doing travel stipends starting at the Anaheim event? I thought that was part of the plan, at least... but I haven't heard anything about stipends.

Yes, the top 16 in cumulative points following each Competition get pro status, a stipend, and free entry (Started in Anaheim,) for the next event.
The players pick the stipends up at check-in at the event.
