The NASL just announced on twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/nasltv) that they're offering a pre-sale of Season 1 Passes. The passes are normally $25, but w/ the pre-sale discount (20%) they'll be going for $20. You just have to use the code "presalenasl" when purchasing. According to the purchase website this package includes:
» 1080p live stream access
» 24/7 Video On Demand access to all content (including weekly shows, analysis, highlights, and matches)
» ZERO commercial interruption

I can see people freaking out about $25 for one season, but you have to realize this season will last 3 months. You can't compare this to the GSL because you'll be getting so much more content.
Nice thread by Hondelul w/ all the NASL info you could need: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=210140
Poll: Will you be purchasing a NASL Season 1 Pass?No (2152) 50% Yes (1257) 29% Undecided (931) 21% 4340 total votes Your vote: Will you be purchasing a NASL Season 1 Pass? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): Undecided
Edit 1: poll by request
Edit 2: For those complaining about paying to see the games, there will be a free stream (just like GSL). It's just if you want access to all the vods you'll have to pay for the premium package (just like GSL).

"minimal commercial interruption" implying I'd be shelling out $25 and still see a commercial here and there? no thanks
|
$20.00 for 3 months of content is a fine deal in my opinion. I have no problem shelling out money when I know it will provide me with hours and hours of entertainment.
|
It would be cool if you could add a poll to the OP to get a gauge of how many people will be buying.

Lol i hope this is a p r i l f o o l s and we're being trolled.

25$ is minimal for the amount of content that you are getting, but the problem is that you have to stay competitive and having your ticket being more expensive and have commercials is not a way to stay competitive.
|
I guess it depends one what minimal means, and will it interfere with an actual game or inbetween games.
$25 for 3 months really isn't bad.
How many games are played per day?
|
This is what mlg should have! They would make so much more $$. I have to work all weekend and will miss 90% of mlg. I would def buy this if they had vods.
|
|
i'll see how the first couple of days turns out
|
how long before we see a post complaining about paying to see non koreans play?
anyways i already bought mine. so its no april fools. unless its an april fools thats steals $$$.

Nothing is good enough for you.
I will probably buy a pass.

Yeah, I don't think so.
Can't see the logic behind paying for it and having to watch commercials as well.
|
Doesn't sound like a bad deal for 3 months but it's hard to pay that up front if you have no idea what the final product is gonna look like.

Me too. I may end up buying a season pass after the first day of games, but right now NASL has to prove itself to me.
edit: If you want to pay 25$ to "support e-Sports" by all means go ahead. But don't hate on people that just want to watch for free that actually support it just as much as you are by WATCHING the games and supporting the sponsors.

This exactly, It's cheaper than gsl and I guess there will be much more content.
Aside from that, I will be glad to support a western SC league

$25 for 3hours of content 5days a week for 3months is a pretty amazing deal in my opinion. Commercials are just a fact of life if they are going to have large sponsors anyways. I wasn't expecting them to have less advertising on the premium stream. Plus the GSL has over 30min of silent shots of the stage each night. Just go get something to eat/drink.
|
I'm not going to initially get a pass. But if word of mouth says NASL is quality entertainment then I will
|
No fucking way will I pay.
...
Going on a vacation and a bit short on money currently. I'll probably get it eventually, and it'll be nice to see how it turns out because it is really, really unproven so far. But assuming there are no major fuckups and I don't start living on the street I'll probably pay, yeah.
