SKT: "We will get to the finals"
-Thoughts on advancing?
▲ BeSt=In the previous round of the playoffs, the victors of both series came back from 0-1 to win 2-1, so I’m happy that we were able to get a clean 2-0 victory. I am confident for the semifinals.
▲ Fantasy=I’m extremely happy that we’ll get to rest tomorrow. The finals in KwangAnRi will start soon. We must win in the next round to get there.
▲ Bisu=I’m very happy we had a good ending today. We have one more obstacle to go through before reaching KwangAnRi. I will definitely practice harder to beat the opponent.
▲ Hyuk= I am very excited our team advanced. In addition, I ended my losing streak, so it is a happy moment for me individually as well.
- You ended your post-season losing streak with a win.
▲ Hyuk=During my losing streak, I kept trying to think of innovations to improve my play, but the more I thought about it, the more I kept losing. Today I just played like I usually do without overthinking it and was able to get the victory.
- Yesterday the team was able to win without you making an appearance.
▲Fantasy= In the post-season, it’s not about individual victories but the victory of the team, so I’m not too sad that I wasn’t able to play yesterday. On the contrary, I was able to save my strategy, which makes me happy. Even though I played on a different map today so I couldn’t use the strategy I had prepared yesterday, I’m still generally satisfied with what happened.
-Following yesterday’s game, today once again you were able to block the opponent’s SK strategy.
▲BeSt= It seems like all the players who go up against me are afraid to play me in the late game, I’m not sure why. Personally, I feel the SK style is easy to defend against, but today’s situation was a little dangerous, which had me a little panicked. Good thing in the end I was able to hold it off and take the victory. In the future I will practice harder to defend against the opponent’s strategy.
- Were you pressured after losing in the 6th set?
▲ Bisu=Before the set I was very confident that I would be able to end the match, but Midas played very well. He had a very good economy, while I had to concentrate on rebuilding my army which left me with a bad economy. After losing, I went backstage by myself to think about what happened for five minutes, but when I took the stage for the ace match I forgot about the loss.
- Were you told to prepare for the ace match?
▲ Bisu=Yes, and I was about 90% sure I would be facing Pure because WeMade’s terrans and zergs have not been doing so well lately.
- You’re the only terran playing in the team.
▲ Fantasy=If only our terran line could play together. It makes me feel regretful, but since I get to play, I will perform well to give the other terrans a chance to play. I want to help the terrans in our team to get a chance to perform. (not sure about this part)
- What do you think about your next series with STX?
▲ Fantasy=Even though STX performed poorly in the last round, I think during this rest period they are recovering, so we cannot relax and let our guard down. If we work hard we’ll be able to win.
▲BeSt= STX does not have a strong terran lineup, so I might not be able to show my strength. However, as long as I make up for my weaker points, I will be able to beat any opponent. I won’t be too greedy; I’ll be satisfied if I do my part well.
▲ Bisu= My impression is that I haven’t done too well against STX, so I need to take this opportunity to improve my record. This post-season we have worked so hard to advance so I will try my hardest.
▲ Hyuk= To me, STX is an easy opponent. They are a strong zerg and protoss team, and these two match ups are the ones I am best at.
- After taking your first postseason win, has that given you the desire [to win more]?
▲ Hyuk= I am the type of player that relies heavily on momentum, so after losing to EffOrt, I entered a slump despite trying hard to end my losing streak. Since I won today and ended the losing streak, I believe I can ride the momentum and continue to win
-Who do you want to play against in STX?
▲ Fantasy= Hard to say, but no matter who I play against, I am confident that I will win. If I play Calm again, I will work hard.
▲ BeSt=I don’t really have anyone specific either, but no matter who it is, I will try my best for the team. I would like to play a terran; protoss would be okay to. Will I be able to win against a zerg? I’ll win…maybe (laughs).
▲ Bisu=No one in particular, I just want to win.
▲ Hyuk=Same here. I just hope to play and win.
- Finally, words for your fans who have been cheering you on?
▲ BeSt= There are at most 4 matches left [t/n: bo3 in the semis and a bo1 for the finals], I hope that everyone will continue to cheer for us and we’ll work hard to win.
▲Fantasy= I heard that the fans have been waiting here since the morning to cheer for us. I want to thank everyone for their support. Since we’ve gotten to the semis, we definitely won’t be eliminated. I hope everyone will continue to cheer for us. We’ll repay everyone with the trophy.
▲ Bisu= We’re able to post good results because of everyone’s support. I promised everyone that I’ll help the team get to KwangAnRi. Now I want to add to that promise: I’ll help the team take the trophy.
▲ Hyuk=After my losing streak, everyone around me was worried about me, I will exit my slump as soon as possible and use my results to show everyone that I am thankful for their support.

Coach Interview:
"KT, Wait for us!"
- Thoughts on advancing?
▲ Even though I’m very happy, but we have to temporarily forget that happiness and focus on our match with STX.
- It was a hard-fought match, are you a little regretful?
▲ Instead of saying regretful, I can only way we were put in an unexpected position which made me uncomfortable. I believe we can learn a lot from our losses. If we had won too easily today, we might let our guard down for the next match. This is probably a warning sign from God so that we don’t relax. While coming to the studio today I guessed that today’s match would not be as easy as yesterday’s, so we weren’t too flustered.
- Today the 2 “B”s performed excellently.
▲ They were in a slump during the regular season, but the coaching staff has been working hard with them, resulting in their resurgence. I believe that the Bisu/BeSt duo is the strongest protoss duo, so we will continue to place our trust in them.
- Compared to the previous round, the zergs have been doing a bit better this round.
▲ If you want to think about it in a positive light, then yes. In the series against CJ, they played terribly, while in the series against WeMade, they performed a bit better. However, I believe against STX, they will be able to show us an explosive performance.
- Have there been any changes to the mindset of the zerg players?
▲ A change in maps? (laughs) There were some minor changes on the maps and the opponents were different. In addition, Coach Cha worked hard with them—all these factors contributed to the better play of our zergs.
- How did you feel when Bisu lost to Midas in the 6th set?
▲ It made me suddenly think, “Has our team fallen into a black hole?” I don’t know why I had that thought, but I felt very uneasy. Every time I see Midas I feel like I’m looking at a little child, gives me the feeling that a higher being has descended upon us.* Even though this is a little superstitious, but during his game with Bisu, I really thought I saw his descension. (laughs)
- What is your evaluation of STX?
▲ Recently STX was in a very long slump. However, there’s always a chance the underdogs can come back, so it’s a little scary. I won’t be too worried by this though. Compared to the teams we have already played, this will be a relatively easy victory.
- What are your feelings now?
▲ KT, wait for us. (laughs)
*Not quite sure about this, but I think in Buddhism, there is a little child that sits alongside Buddha, so the coach is saying Midas gives him the feeling of that child.
