I am happy as well. Its NORTH AMERICAN starleague not SKSL. Now our american/european players will all have equal chances to actually win money and make Pro-gaming in NA more attainable | ||

It's mostly foreigners. Usually countries that host events would like to see their players win. Though in my opinion, foreigners should just become better. | ||

But I can see a lot of good reason why the Koreans are demanding so much * Unreasonable play times (4 am) for their weekly league matches * Lag issues between KR and NA servers * Bad format - travel all the way to the US to play potentially one Bo3 * The fact that a Korean player was poached during the last finals (Puma) doesn't reflect to well on the league * With the amount of Koreans who would of been in the tournament now - it would of likely ended up in a lot of them in the finals - and the teams having to cover this (which goes to the format issue - sending players to US for a Bo3). * Players being fatigued / participation in the Korean leagues (GSL/GSTL) (even MC has been saying he felt like he is falling behind due to all the foreign events) * GSL partnership with MLG (politics / agreed conditions for players participating / etc) Bad luck for NASL and the viewers, but got to think about it from both sides here.... | ||

They are not in a healthy state in Korea and of course they would want people to pay, since they can't temselves. I can answer this question. We paid for Korean players to come to NASL Season 1. We bought tickets for MC, PuMa, Zenio, and Squirtle. We paid $1,192 for each ticket. The hotel cost was $353 for the entire event. Travel cost was about $80 per person (shuttle service to and from). This averages out about $1650, factoring in meals ($50 per day even) ... giving each player $2,000 should cover that. | ||

However what is going on here with putting players into a qualifier, accepting invites, all with full knowledge of what NASL pays, and then threatening to last minute pull everyone out is just not acceptable behavior. Makes me very sad to see this organization used for these ends. I hope the Korean scene can come to re-think their actions and act differently in future situations. | ||

Someone mentioned why fly all the way to potentially play one Bo3? That's exactly what happened to Boxer. The jet lag and inability to play at your best and damage personal and team reputation is not worth it. Then flying back and suffering the jet lag again and being tired from all the travelling will affect play in the local GSL. There is simply not enough incentive to play in the NASL n bear w the lag (internet and jet), waking up @4/5am for matches, etc. | ||

I don't know crap about basketball, and I really can't tell the differences between play in the NBA or in just college basketball. Plenty assumption on your post!! Let me clarify my point...even if there aren't Koreans involved they will be plenty of competitive and entertaining games played and I think most people wouldn't be able to distinguish if the games were NASL games or games played between Koreans!! | ||
