SC2 lagging in windowed (fullscreen) mode

for the last week or so SC2 has been lagging a ton, and trying to watch a youtube video or stream while SC2 is running has been causing firefox to freeze.

switching SC2 to fullscreen mode seems to have fixed the lag issue, but is much less convenient for me.

do any of the tech wizards arround here know what (like a patch or something?) could cause these lags issues to appear suddenly, or how to fix them?

That sounds like a problem with either flash or display drivers. Have you tried using a different browser? Try that first.

Hmm, the issue might be hardware related. What are your specs exactly? Also did you try and measure the temperatures of your CPU/GPU to make sure nothing is overheating? Windowed fullscreen is more graphically intensive then fullscreen is and will cause your fps to drop, but in most cases it should not really be a problem.

was running fine on same settings/hardware for 6 months+

lagging even in fullscreen mode now (but not as badly)

have the same issue after 1.5 (same hardware same ISP same everything, just lags)

beta runs fine.

Hardware deteriorates.

When you say "lagging", what exactly do you mean? Together with the browser problems it suggests silent GPU resets, which are usually caused by a failing GPU, but the type of "lag" is important.

well whats happening to me is i get significant control input delay, and then i just stutter lag stall and end up DCing.

trace runs fine, dxdiag is fine, posted on official forums and they cant tell me whats different (other than their own software)

even got a new PC and still lags. every other blizzard game runs fine (D3 WoW) just not getting love from the SC2 client.

Odd how this issue crept up for me over a decade later.

I am playing on the highest settings possible on an RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 5 3600. Fullscreen works absolutely fine, but Windowed Fullscreen is abysmally slow. 3840x2160@144. I do have a second monitor at 1920x1080@60. I'm wondering if the issue has to do with multiple monitor setups?

E: This is one of the top hits on Google for this issue. PiG ran into it as well, and someone believes it does have to do with multiple monitors running at different refresh rates.
