TL.net ESPORTS 4 Posts October 03 2023 06:26 GMT #1 2022-23 ESL Pro Tour - Open Cups: Week #195 (October 2nd) by Wax Week #195 of the ESL Open Cups temporarily suspended the awarding of EPT points, as the delayed deployment of Patch 5.0.12 prevented all cups from being played on the same version. Cups continued to award prize money as per usual. The Korean Cup (played on Patch 5.0.11) was won by herO, who swept Astrea 3-0 in an all-Protoss final. The European Cup was (also played on Patch 5.0.11) went to MaxPax, who achieved a perfect run without a single map loss. The cup also featured a major upset as Wayne eliminated Clem from the quarterfinals with a 2-1 score (Wayne was then defeated by Spirit in the semifinals). The Americas Cup was the only ESL cup to be played on the new 5.0.12 patch, and concluded with Clem making up for his misstep in Europe with a cup victory. Wayne pulled off another major upset on the week with 2-1 victory over Dark in the quarterfinals, but was defeated in the semifinals by MaxPax. In the non-ESL weeklies, ByuN won Kung Fu Cup Winter #1 (played on 5.0.11) while herO won KSL Weekly #29 (played on 5.0.12).
