Yeah, it would be a huge commitment. Adapting to the Code S format, adapting to living in a new country, etc would be a lot of stress. Even beyond the risk of an early exit from Code S, moving to Korea could harm performance in other competitions because of latency/jet lag/general disruption.
If Serral made a commitment to move to Korea and play several consecutive seasons of Code S I think he'd have a good chance of winning, but I doubt he'd just sweep in and win. Reynor would also have chances if he truly committed (maybe living in Korea would even fix Clem's TvT.) But with the current prize pools in Code S vs the foreign scene there's no reason to make that commitment. It's sad because Serral/Clem/Reynor/Oliveira playing would probably attract more much needed attention.
Some rich fan should put out a bounty for the first foreigner to make a Code S final

With the Patreon so far, it's contributing $200k already, which means the prize pool is higher than 2022, unless you mean decreased in general the last several years, but hopefully the crowdfunding will increase a bit more to match that too
Didn't reynor try last season? It was just forgettable because he didn't get far. Would love to see him try again and maybe avoid the Korean Terran powerhouses

Wish that GSL could have had crowdfunding earlier, but i suppose it may have given them a bad look or whatnot.
The dream would be if they re-expand to Ro24 or somehow allow for a tiny bit of new blood so that the scene can stay interesting for a long time
Ultimately the prize money and re-expanding is more critical for the medium/long-term prospects of the tournament, over having it in studio, at least for me. Seeing some fresh blood able to break through, as well as an incentive for our old favourites to stick around will go further in keeping interested eyes on it, and donating to Patreons
Of course the ideal is to do both.
Would have been nice if Blizzard had kept up some content like Warchests to help monetise tournaments too, but top level SC is still one of my favourite watches so effectively paying for it is a pretty good value proposition, and maybe one that could have been investigated earlier

I think it was said at some point that the donated money will go to prize pool, but capping at 30k per season. But in term of the details, like if ALL the money will go to the prizepool or there will be a split, or what if the total is more than 90k for this year, ect. hasnt been confirmed yet.

Wait, only $30k bonus per season?? Or is it $30k total max for 1st place?
I get they may want to conserve money for future seasons and not use it all up, but the cap should probably be whatever brings the prize pool very close to what it was in 2022.
