On the Korean server, Dark, soO and Classic squeezed in one more cup before beginning their lengthy voyage, and Dark ended up triumphant with a 3-1 victory over soO in the finals. The European cup was completely devoid of IEM Katowice participants, which opened up the field considerably. However, it wasn't easy pickings for MaxPax as some may have expected, as he gave up surprising upset to French Protoss arrogfire in the RO8. German Terran BattleB took advantage of the opportunity, taking down arrogfire on his way to the finals. However, he was stopped one step short of completing a fantastic underdog run, as SKillous prevailed in a tight 3-2 finals. Played immediately after the EU cup, the American cup also lacked IEM Katowice competitors. This time around, MaxPax allowed no surprises and went on a perfect run to win the cup.
