Is enough being done about ergonomics/posture?

I feel like RSI is a really bad and somewhat fixable problem, especially on the Korean scene. Every pro-gamer should see a posture coach at some point.

"Gaming Chairs" should be made for the sole reason of keeping backs and wrists healthy by encouraging good posture. Mouses (and mousepads) should be designed with ergonomics in mind -- I feel like I don't see any wrist-wrests on player mousepads. I'm sick of seeing Byun take timeouts in games because he's in excruciating pain, or Maru's level of play go up and down depending on how his wrist is feeling, or seeing someone like MVP have to retire early.

And if a company/team sponsor was actually able to give its players an advantage and keep them off the IR with products that helped the gamers, that would make much more sense as an advertisement that choosing a telecom company or which airline to fly based on eSports tournament results. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Having some education in ergonomics is great. Having a dedicated ergonomics person to help the professionals would be great. But having 1 per team is overkill as they are needed more as a temporary consultant than as a coworker.

Having a few ergonomics coaches in the scene that gets hired to help players improve posture and get gear that is fitting for them, would probably be a really good thing.

Ergonomics is very individual, so it is hard to do a good job with each player. Big Gabe needs something completely different from what Babymarine needs.
Add to that the market wanting to sell things and giving misleading information. E.g. the early expensive gaming chairs were worse than good office chairs. Office work is very similar to gaming and it has been developed for decades. Current gaming chairs are way better than the old ones but I haven't read any recent studies on comparisons with office chairs.

It is a good thought. I doubt SC2 have the means to keep it stable, though.
How are LoL, DotA etc. doing it?

I think pro players like if you are driving car, have to stop playing during one/half an hour every two hours.
It s the better way to preserve from injury in my point of view.

After awhile, even the most stringent measures do not prevent repetitive injuries, only stymies them.

Everything you're saying is totally true, but we're talking about pro gamers who are abusing their wrists for probably 10 + hours daily 350 + days a year.

That could be the biggest answer of all -- make it part of the culture to get up, walk around, and stretch out your wrists for AT LEAST 10 minutes per hour of practice, and icing/resting/stretching for 30 minutes every 4 or so hours, instead of burning through 10 straight hours.
