Might be tough for DRG. He's up against Serral first. However, the other two players in his pool are Terrans (Cure and Dream) so he just needs to beat Dream in a Bo3.

I imagine it would be quite tricky to make it all cohesive and broadcastable, but man there’s going to be some intense drama in the last weeklies for some of these races.

No sources on this of course, but it makes complete sense that both Neeb and MarineLord would definitely play!

The guaranteed money even from just finishing last place is way too good to pass up. Perhaps this is even more likely if the event would be held online from the comfort of their own homes.

I bet MarineLord hasn't touched SC2 in months, but he may as well just try some half-hearted proxy rax, get the games over with quickly, and get the free money.

I really hope he does play. He is quite a dark horse I feel like, he can prepare very smartly and upset a player or two.
He seems to be having a lot of success in AoE IV both competitively and with his stream so it might not be super worth to take time off for sc2 practice + katowice

There's no reason to not go, he can't do worse than Lilbow or NaNiwa. All which he has to do is to play some games, don't give any reason to hate you in the interview and collect free money. I agree it's not an honorable thing to do, so his conscience may intervene.

He would only get 350$ minus tax if he comes without good preparation. As far as I know during play in stage players have to pay for travel and hotel out of their own pocket unless their team covers the cost and tests may be obligatory so it may not be worth it.

Even if it's from home, 350$-700$ for what I imagine will be between 2 and 5 day's work depending on how they split the groups (probably like 7-8 hours total with the downtime, interview and whatnot) isn't that great of a deal. I mean I'd do it if I had the free time for sure, but it's not life changing money.

It probably will depend if there are any big Age IV tourneys around that time. If for example at that weekend (or even one later) a bigger tournament comes up, he probably will need the time for training. While the scene isn't settle or anything, Mlord is definetly one of those ~five people you always think can take a win in any Age IV tournament at the moment. And the prize money there is definetly bigger than ~350$ for Kattowice. And lets face it: He won't progress much further than that, with basically being retired.

I would realy like to have herO at Katowice as well.
At the same time it would be great, if both of Lambo and Showtime would make it to the Ro24 right now.

So when is the deadline for players to confirm their availability for IEM, is it after Last Chance tournament? I just saw Zest qualified to GSL ST1, meaning he can still play at the end of January approximately and nobody knows when is Zest military date.
If the tournament is still offline, then I guess not just Zest, but also Rogue and Trap are on the "watch-list" for traveling outside the country as well.

There's a chance Rogue doesn't go? That would be horrible and put a huge asterisk on the results here considering how he's done in the last 4 or 5 premiers.
