I have to say Maru has seemed extremely confident in defending the various curve balls his recent opponents have thrown at him, so finding cracks in Maru's armor will not be easy for TY!

I think TY has the best preparation in the world though. Maru does seem to have better control, I think the onus is on TY to get a lead in the midgame.

That Super Tournament wasn't even a weekender as well, it was played over a few weeks, in another world they would have ran a Code S instead of it. Add on that 2013 season 2 got labelled an OSL, it would be a crime if Maru never officially gets it.

I'm curious how they will play on the tricky doomed map Golden Wall for a last time in an offline match.

Anything could happen on the final but I'm really glad with TY's performance this year. I'm curious how they will play on the tricky doomed map Golden Wall for a last time in an offline match. I'm a huge Maru fan, but I think TY is the favorite coming into the match. I just hope that some combination of Jin Air prep and Maru's instincts for making last-minute strategy adjustment gets him through. The only outcome I have a hard time picturing is a stomp by Maru. I think if he wins, it gonna be 4-3. If TY wins, I think the score could be 4-0 or 4-3 or anything in between.

P.S. Even if he gets second place, that still makes Maru GOAT since he will have four wins and a second place.

Maru is an incredible player but if he does have a weaker matchup its probably TVT, not to say his isn’t one of best in the world. I think Ty probably takes this primarily based on his solid series planing and decision making. TY is probably the second or third best Terran but he is the best at TVT. It will be close. But I say Ty 4-3 Best at TvT didn’t even manage to beat Cure in KoB... The only time TY was the best at TvT and fought Maru in finals was 2018 S3, and we saw what happened against the king of finals

They've played 2 best of 7 matches, both went to game 7. If we get that again I see no reason to complain.

I think either way it will be very close because it's TvT and based on 2 previous finals they met. Both went the distance of 4-3 scores. I'd have to give TY a slight advantage based on the semi final performances.

He beat there Inno(3:0), CLem(4:2) and Cure(4:1). CUre beat TY 4:3. Had he win by a single close game, I would admit Maru's TvT may be a weakness, but FFS he did beat 3 good Terran and the closest As much as I agree with Maru's generally superior state of the match up, it also means TY has had that much to study and work on. I would probably give the nod to TY in terms of prep, so winning that KoB over so many terrans may come back to doom Maru

Because I think that Arty will hype Maru - Artosis curse, then G5L curse and in the end as you just noticed, TY has plenty of material to study. OTOH MAru didn't played anything prepared! If TY can prepare builds, so can Maru. he showed his general lategame preference in TvT, no special builds were included. The point was, that Maru has a sick TvT right now and if he's weakest in the TvT I don't want to see his stronger MUs :D

The new style Maru has recently showcased in TvT has been very effective, if anything he doesn't seem as dominant in TvZ as he once were. TY's is the master of mirror and he has proven to be very effective in preparation formats, I see him beating Mary even in a Code S final.
