Aligulac rates Trap as the weakest Korean player at Blizzcon, but beyond that (and more interestingly) it seems to consider Trap the most specialized player with a 400+ differential between his best and worst match-up. And he won't get his best match-up in this group.

PvT is his strength (none in his group) and PvP his weakness (Neeb with solid PvP results of late). Rogue's recent record vs Trap would have to make him a decent favorite if they meet, and Elazer is strongest in ZvP thus another bad matchup. Um... Serral won that game 👀

Agreed there: but the previous poster claimed that Trap had won so I had to clarify. I think Trap is the best Protoss right now: he certainly is the most CONSISTENT. That may serve him well. However, PvT is his best matchup and there are no Terrans in his group. Has he done enough work on his PvZ and PvP after Dark and Classic (who excels in PvP) both took him to the woodshed recently?

Low-key Serral has been pretty good at 'putting people over' in prowrestling parlance. :D

Trap is an absolute beast this year. His play is rock solid and his gsl runs have involved toppling some giants. Neeb and Elazer are no doubt dangerous but Trap is more consistent and I don’t see how you don’t have him at least 2nd in that group. Hell he has already proven that he can adapt to beat his Jin air comrades after getting thrashed by them the first time. See trap vs maru round 1 and trap vs maru round 2 Group D is low key a potential dogfight though. Neebs PvZ and PvP are legendary and at his best he can beat anyone. Elazer beat Dark in ZvZ and Zerg is always a huge threat to Protoss in this meta. If the killer versions of Neeb and Elazer show up group D is a bloodbath.

I'll never forget 2018 IEM Quarterfinals vs Serral. Underestimate Trap at your own risk. I think that was the last loss for awhile for Serral. I mangled that, IEM was the last loss, and it was that next series vs Classic in the semi where Serral actually was defeated 3-0. It was not nearly as entertaining as the Trap series so that one was what stuck in my mind. Lol @ the aligulac stats. To hell with them. The numbers don't lie, Trap is playing poorly the last month and relied on an impressive PvT run to deliver his results this year. Neeb has been more consistent. Trap's amazing PvT performances mean little with no Terrans to face, and three tough match-ups mean a difficult but not impossible road for Trap. It is surprising to me that his chances in group D would look so difficult after so good a year, but the luck of the draw worked against him.

Especially when Trap plays in the hardest region on the planet while neeb sticks to NA/europe. I get that group D is an extremely dangerous group...a complete dog fight. However, when I watch the tournament matches of the group d contestants, Trap looks the best imo (although rogue has the advantage imo thanks to the state of zvp). That's not to say Neeb, who, when playing at his best, has legendary PvP and PvZ, and Elazer, who has the european zvz factor and the zvp balance advantage, cannot make it out. However, if I had to bet, I'd bed on trap making it out.
