While math is nice, how about the army and ability to travel out of the country? With Blizzard's power they probably can sort that out. My memory strikes again but somebody will for sure point out the other person who was qualified and wasn't allow to travel to Blizzcon. wait there's still a chance that classic can attend blizzcon?
tastetosis are always talking like classic has no chance of blizzcon, at least that's how it seems to me

Classic not attending makes things very interesting in terms of groups.
Would blizzard move up everyone below him whenever its announced he can't attend? If so then the seeds may be suddenly switched around not long before the event itself.
Straight up swapping Classic's current #2 seed with whoever gets 9th also wouldn't make sense in terms of seeding.

Well if Classic were allowed to leave korea he would have a safe seed for BlizzCon, BUT the probability is high (almost 100%) that he will not be allowed.

Did anyone asked Classic what's the state? It would explain his recent results.

In regards to Classic's ability to leave the country:
I am a competitive Pokemon player, recently one of our former World Champions Sejun Park was doing his military service. Sejun was allowed to attend the World Championship but not play. So he came to pick up the gifts given out to players who qualify and then spectated. I obviously don't know all the rules, but it's possible Blizzard could work something out, because there is clearly some amount of leniency.

I think Elazer made his point beeing better than Scarlett right now. Sucks for her and her fans. But what can you do. The EU cutoff is pretty clear with 600 points between #8 and #9 Especially when Elazer’s best run this year, way better than the rest of his year and Scarlett’s as well didn’t even count for WCS points.
Hopefully Scarlett can show her best next season and make slightly better decisions. Choosing GSL over WCS, I admire sticking to the most prestige tournament, and it was wonky that she had to choose for one cycle when doubling up was doable before and since.
Having LASIK surgery near a tournament and mentioning side effects as being detrimental to her play, not so much. Outside of complications the recovery turnaround is pretty fast for it.

Because Serral got 3200 for 4:2 Elazer also. What's the difference ? That includes points earned in the qualifier. 3140 = 140 (2nd place in the EU qualifier) + 3000 (1st place in the main event) 3200 = 200 (1st place in the EU qualifier) + 3000 (1st place in the main event)
Ah ok thank you

So, if BlizzCon were to be held tomorrow, the groups would be:
A-Dark,Showtime,soO,Special; B-Maru,Serral,Dear,TIME; C-Trap,Heromarine,Stats,Reynor; D-Classic,Elazer,herO,Neeb.
Not bad(group B being the group of death), but I expect them to change substantially.

It's very unlikely the groups would not change anyway, Classic dropping is a possibility the way TY and Rogue getting into the top8 is

Though that's omega hypothetical at this point.

I hyped the Korea race up a lot in my head, but I realized it's prolly gonna go chalk like the circuit with Rogue and TY just replacing Classic and Dear. Not the most interesting in terms of watching the Super Tournament race (sOs vs Solar really kept things suspensful last year), but prolly the best line-up for BlizzCon.

Serral won both 2019 WCS Spring and 2019 WCS Fall so one extra seed was awarded to the WCS Circuit Standings.
Does it mean Ptidrogo gain the extra seed ?

No that's just a technicality surrounding the fact that it's officially written that the tournament winners get a guaranteed seed, plus the next 5 best players by points. When someone wins more than one tournament, there has to be an extra 'seed' awarded for the next top ranked players to make 8. It's unlikely, but hypothetically someone could win one tournament and have a seed even if that was the only points they had and it somehow wasn't enough for top 8.

I mean we have even more player for the lower spots in the running rn dont' we? I would wait for the ST qulifiers to conclude and look at the st drawings, could become pretty interesting then :D (pls no Dear vs Zest again my fanboy heart won't take another one )

Don't really see Dear losing his spot tbh. If he qualifies for the ST at all, TY needs to make it to the finals to pass him.
Cool scenario though: Dear doesn't qualify for the ST. TY finishes Ro4 in the ST. They are tied for points and play a tie breaker.

No doubt Would you really be surprised if Maru knocked Serral out in quarters if the brackets play out that way? Do you really think Maru can't beat Serral? It could be a close series... But flip a coin. Zerg is strong right now, but Maru doesn't play like other Terrans. He is the only person I recall embarrassing Serral in a sweep. For huge money and stakes.
I sometimes think with Maru and SOS being friends and teammates, last year he "sort of" let SOS get the better of him. He'd already won all 3 GSLs, and WESG - tons of money.
An importantly, SOS helped him prep for protoss a great deal (which helped him win big GSL matches) so he may have felt some of his success was due to his teammate and friend. I wouldn't throw games in the circumstances and I'm not saying he did AT ALL, just that his will to win wasn't as formidable. He played a bizarre series.
And historically SOS has won Blizzcon, so a special narrative became possible with SOS advancing.
Just food for thought. Maru vs Serral, bo7 - sign me up. I'd love it.
