2019 Global StarCraft II League - Code S Season 3

Code S Round of 32 continued with the Protoss duo of herO and Zest moving on from Group D at the expense of soO and Dream. As many players before him, Dream was unable to put up much of a fight in his first major tournament after returning from military service and was eliminated in last place. In soO's case, he was able to take a map off both Zest and herO, but ended up falling to their respective specialties: early-game timings and impenetrable late game defense.

Group F saw TY and Maru advance to the Ro16, thus taking the first steps toward redemption after being eliminated in the Ro32 of the previous season. Maru advanced in second place with a modest 5-4 map record, putting in a mixed-bag performance om his games. A brute-force proxy-Reaper all-in against TY showed off the mechanics that helped him win four Code S titles in a row, but a more or less straight-up macro game loss to Super soured hopes for a quick return to dominating form. While Super—another player returning from military service—was eliminated in last place like Dream, he at was able to take some consolation map wins against Maru, as well as 3rd place finisher Impact.

Well, that’s why we watch. Serral might be the best player in the world but no question GSL is the hardest tournament in the world. :-)

(But soO already won IEM so he’s already got his BlizzCon ticket punched if that makes you feel any better 👀)

i know that, it's just that there is no one i would like to win gsl more than soO.
heck, there is no one else who would even make me root for him so hard!

And here we go again, let's randomly mention Serral in a competition he ignores because reasons.
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.
