Starcraft has been a huge part of our lives. We're the first generation to grow up in an era where computer games games are so entertaining and immersive that they genuinely rival reality in some ways. This is a historic turn.
The significance that Starcraft has for me and for a lot of our community is very real. Even though I suspected SC2 was coming, seeing the cinematic and gameplay movies and the crowd's reaction to them had an impact on me.
While watching the videos and thinking about the huge significance SC has had for us, and thinking back to the first time I played Starcraft, I couldn't help but shed a few tears of awe and relief that a new game is on its way to revive our community.
We're going to essentially be able to play Starcraft for the first time again, participate in inventing new strategies, and witness a new competitive scene emerge. It's a rebirth of Starcraft, and that is very good news.
So, here's the poll question: At any time while learning about Starcraft2 (reading the news, watching the videos, etc), did you at any time shed tears of joy/awe/inspiration/etc? Be honest.
Poll: Did you shed tears when learning of SC2? (Vote): Yes, from joy/awe/inspiration/etc (Vote): No, it didn't have that significance to me (Vote): I wasn't pleased with the news of SC2
I wasn't pleased with the news of SC2 I'm still not pleased with the news of SC2 And will only be pleased with the news of SC2 when I know for a fact that the game will be up to par with the current Starcraft.

This is almost too inviting to false vote. Never ask for honesty online and expect it. Just look at the "What is your sex?" thread that was closed recently.
That being said, I was actually honest. I did not cry.
All I can remember is having a gigaaaaaaaaaaaaaantic grin on my face (until I saw the screenshots, then I saw the gameplay videos and the grin came back).
I've probably been teary eyed over some starcraft stuff tho (although I can't remember what exactly, probably boxer related :D).

When I heard about it I was at a lanparty. I stood up and ran around telling everyone... problem was everyone was asleep since I was the only one waking up 7am to hear the anouncement. So what basicly happened was me just running around unable to sit down for 5 minutes. After that I was just happy all day. Im still happy =)
first time when I first thing in the morning opened blizzard.com to see what they had announced and saw the STARCRAFT II, HELL IT'S ABOUT TIME! And second time when I saw the intro movie and realised he was getting into a marine suit.

lets have this guy dragged out into the street and beaten severely with our mouses and keyboards for this quote. thx ^.^
I don't think this poll have much of a point. I'm not the crying type and don't typically express happyness or sadness that way. I was really pumped when I saw the SC2 announcement, but the fact that it didn't make me cry shouldn't deminish my reaction in your eyes.
I think this poll should have a control to give context to the question.
When I was watching the shitty cam version of the korean showing of the cinematics that was linked in IRC, I had a huge grin on my face and almost tears in my eyes when the Koreans cheered at the 'Status: Active' part.
I was very happy as long with about 250+ others in #teamliquid mIRC when they announced SC2. But no tears where shed, even thou I have been playing SC for 8+ years. It is and always will be a game. Just a game.. nothing more. It's not worth shedding tears of "happiness" or "frustration".
This is the dumbest thread ive ever seen. Ive been playing SC for 10~ years, but why the fuck would I (or anyone) cry???
I feel sorry and pity for those who would cry over something like this.. There are other great games and other amazing things to do in life, and if SC means that much to you.. You're living too much in the past and its taking away from your present
It was very significant me; it gave me the chills/goosebumps watching that cinematic and I can't remember being that overwhelmingly joyful over something like that since Christmas mornings when I was a young child. I was awe stricken as the camera panned up Tychus' legs. However, I have testicles and did not cry, or really feel the urge to.
