Fantastic videos, and suprisingly Blizzard seems to be heading in directly the direction I've been hoping they would with this game. Units seem to be highly responsive, the strategic possibilities near endless and no weird new concept, such as heros, promotions, a new ressources, neutral buildings and what-not.
SC2 looks pretty epic. I love that they spelled out GG at the end with the lings, I just want to know whether or not the protoss units have to be created before they are warped in, or if they are instantly created, that seems just a little bit imba to me =/. I'm satisfied with the game so far.
Fuck you know what, I actually prefer that mod from what I've seen of SC2 so far. It just seems so much clearly and you can actually tell what's happening.
are you SERIOUS, that mod SUCKS and looks terrible.
+ not only nexus times etc. what about the ability for like..every unit to avoid terrain by jumping it. . i'm sure blizzard will sort it out. after all they say they are focusing on multiplayer competition
First time i saw the sc2 graphics (On those bad quality photos), i thought the graphics going to be shit. But now that i see a video, I'm very impressed and the units are just too cool especially the jetpack guys! Whew!
I guess we'll have to wait and see, but in general 3d animation makes units too slow for micromanagement and that imho is the only reason why starcraft is still popular, since you can turn around a game if you are good at it. I am afraid this is gonna end up like WC3, in which teching is more important than strategy and tactics.

yeah i was thinking along the same lines, but...i'm sure blizzard recognizes how people feel about this, I am SO glad they did not include grouped units (such as DOW, CNC etc).
Well, even though I'm not a huge fan of War3 micro, there's still a lot of micro in that game.
And judging purely from this video (when he selects the first zealot), I'd say the reaction time in SC2 is amazingly good I'm sure micro will be awesome.

That video looks like shit... You can't tell what's happening in SC2 because you are unfamiliar with the units, especially the brand-new ones. That happens with every game you start out with.

Ive played warcraft 3. I know all the units and spells. Still when you get 2 large armies clashing and all the spells start being used. You cant tell wtf is goin on. Thats what im worried about with starcraft 2.
The colossus seems somewhat more high tech I'm hoping it doesn't replace the archon.
Also reavers are still in the game (watch the artwork video), just hoping they didn't remove shuttles. EDIT: rewatching the first gameplay video (again) and I just realized the zealots arrive in something shuttleish :D

in the game vid part 3/3 where the mother ship faces off some BC's there is also a dropship there, which i would assume means shuttle is still in the game, thx for the reaver tip. DT were important for bw as templar were important for vanilla, maybe psi storm will look so awesome in sc2? after all whats psi without a storm

i know what u mean too much animations and graphics colossal explosions and then wtf is happenning~ and...ft the units looks dumb ! ;P
I felt pretty worried when I saw the screenshots but those in-game movies really put my mind at ease (to some extent at least). The battles look pretty awesome and although I dont like some changes (Dragoon > Immortal, Siege Tanks look terrible, some unit voice effects suck) in the end with proper balance thay can make this a great game. I have two major concerns: - I dont mind the hard counters but they might become a downside if they make them too hard - If they make too many new units/abilities etc. it may just make some of them obsolete. The beautiful thing about SC is that every unit is used for something and has a valid place on the battlefield. But this is an early demo so we just have to wait and see.
Another thing im worried about, is the performance. If this game comes out and peoples computers cant handle it. Playing on the net is gonna suck due to slowdown.
Do we really need a physics system in an rts game? Its not like the debri is going to stay there for more than a few seconds.

Units that attack with a continuous beam. I fucking HATE that shit. Does nothing but look retarded, mimic C&C, and clog up the screen with flashing lights and colors. Bah. Half the protoss units I've seen so far attack with these aids-laden continuous beams of death. I really hope that fuckin' changes.
Dude seriously the end battle, even though there was no management gave me an orgasm. NUKES are going to be sweet! And then the GG ending.... fucking amazing!
