Ji’nara, First Ascendant of the Tal’darim and Alarak’s second in command, has been challenged to the rite of Rak’Shir by a splinter faction that continues to worship Amon. If their mysterious challenger emerges victorious, Amon’s minions will be poised to seize control of the death fleet from Alarak and return its might to Amon’s grasp. Provide Ji’nara with the psionic support she requires to defeat Amon’s champion and put an end to this insurrection once and for all.
So sets the stage for our newest Co-op Mission: “Chain of Ascension,” coming to StarCraft II in our next major patch, 3.2.0. Those who have played through Legacy of the Void will be familiar with the map’s mechanics. You and your ally must help Ji’nara overcome her foe by keeping your army close. Your support will give her the strength to drive her enemy back, ultimately plunging them to their death. This psionic tug-of-war will ebb and flow depending on who has the stronger army.
Amon’s forces will do everything they can to support their own champion. On top of the army that will be sent to directly support his champion, your base and any expansions you may have will also be assaulted. As you overpower your opponent and drive them closer to their doom, you’ll encounter several enemy bases that must be destroyed to complete the rite of Rak’Shir. And of course, Amon will send his most powerful threats—the dreaded Hybrids—against you. These creatures have powerful psionic energies and can force Ji’nara back without needing to be close to the battle. You’ll have to directly assault the Hybrids and destroy their outpost or they will negate any ground you may have gained. Those who are comfortable with the campaign version of this mission will be in for a surprise.

As for bonus quests, Slayn Elementals roam the lands and are known to wander near the rite of Rak’Shir. To prevent this interference, you are encouraged to take these creatures out before they become an issue. These creatures are beefed up from their campaign counterparts and wield area-of-affect attacks, ideal for dispatching large, unsuspecting armies.

Woot! More development of the Tal'darim Protoss and the 4th race, the Xel' Naga!
Really hoping that they continue to expand with Tal'Darim and Xel'Naga Co-op Commanders! Also Pretty stoked to see the Nova Co-op Commnder and usage of the highly underutilized multiplayer ghost academy branch. Looks sick!

Really pumped for this one. One small criticism, I wish the enemies weren't all named and colored the same.... there's variety in the units and stuff, but I dislike every map is called FORCES OF AMON.
I'm really curious to see how they price commanders when this goes live, since that's going to dictate their incentive to pump out content for Co-Op, I think.

Yeah it was pretty cool that relic did that, and even recently released another new hero for dawn of war II. They are supporting all their games in a strong way. I basically just play these two company's RTS at the moment.

just need you and a teammate together and kill off the xel-naga nemesis if they appear. The nemesis will still push you even if you are next them.

Played the mission once, feels about the same level as the other ones in terms of difficulty, maybe a little harder. I haven't played many games since they raised the difficulty on brutal so I may be mislead there.
I personally feel it has a bit more appeal than the other ones, I liked the mechanic in the single player campaign and it does work nicely in co-op as well. However, it's likely not enough to bring me back to playing co-op. I finished the all achievements grind, so maybe the games just feel a little too dull due to too many repetitions.
Would be nice to have something beyond brutal in terms of difficulty. Currently all you need is decent spending (as in not floating 2000+ minerals and gas before max supply), which isn't really that hard on a two base economy. Other than that you can just a-move into most of the engagements...

what exactly do the bonus elementals do to you? they shoot this thing that makes you immobile. you have to attack it to get out. my ally told me to stop attacking him when i was trying to free him, so i'm not sure what's going on.

It places a bubble that is a dot while you are in it. If you attack the bubble it goes away and the dot stops. (dot=Damage over time) You should clear the units from the bubble, but not attack them after they are free from it. When you see the bubble just split your army.
