soO defeats TRUE, advances to third straight GSL finals

SKT_soO passed a momentous milestone in the GSL, becoming the first player ever to reach three consecutive finals. With a 4-1 victory over (Z)

JinAir_TRUE in the semifinals, soO confirmed a spot in the grand finals against teammate Classic. It will be soO's third final against a Protoss player, having lost to Dear and Zest in previous seasons.

Not surprisingly, the series played out mostly as a roach war. The 1-4 scoreline was somewhat unfair to TRUE, who looked to be on even footing with soO for much of the series. TRUE seemed to be even stronger than soO in the mid-game phases, accumulating big army and bank leads on several occasions. However, TRUE was just unable to defeat soO in the crucial late game battles, not even with several mass spore cancels to inflate his roach count.

soO will be held on June 28th from GomTV's studio. The event marks the first SKT team-kill in a major Korean finals since Boxer and iloveoov faced off in the EVER2004 OSL.

Undoubtedly impressive by soO. I get the feeling he will remain undervalued even if he wins this finals. If he loses a third time, I wonder if he will be able to bounce back again.
